What can I say...I am not going to make excuses but there are some undeniable facts. We were decimated by injuries this Spring and in turn went from a team with a lot of experience to a team that was throwing out 5 or 6 true freshman every game. Our inexperience really showed this weekend, and some of our young guys really showed their age. The good news is that those same young guys will be that much more prepared when we get to this point again next year. Also, we are a kick and chase-type team right now...lots of finesse. Playing in a torrential downpour like we did all weekend just erased our entire strategy. We dropped the first game to Dartmouth 40-20 and then came back and dropped a tough one to Cal-Davis 39-28 on Sunday. To say this was a disappointment is the biggest understatement I can think of...but I am very excited about our young players and the direction the team is headed. We look to be very strong heading in to the Fall and our recruiting efforts are in full swing right now. Thanks to everyone for their support...the OSURFC appreciates it.

The Kooga deal is finally in place and it looks like we will have tons of merchandise available in the near future. One it is, I will let those that have expressed interest know and work with you to get you whatever you need.

Also, just a reminder that the Ohio Classic is this weekend at Buerliner Park, so feel free to come out and hand me a beer as I spend my entire weekend managing this mess.

That's the right spin, Wes. No way to learn to play except to play. Some of those young guys will learn from it and get better.

Great to hear about Kooga. I'm sorry that I won't be able to get up there this weekend. Hopefully, it will be considerably warmer than last year.

at least it wasn't raining and 30 degrees this year

.. whats the news on the USA Canada match in crew stadium?

You have no idea...

Representatives from USA Rugby and TravelCorp will be in town June 4th to meet with all of us officials on the committee for hosting the NA4 to finalize the details. Things like ticket prices, the relationship between OSU and USA and our budget still need to be ironed out. But as it stands right now, things are still a go for July 22nd, 26th and 29th. The location is still up in the air as well...between Crew Stadium and Jesse Owens Memorial.

The second leg of the NA4 is going to be held at our home fields, Fred Beekman Park. As of last night, yours truely has been put in charge of the tickets and security for the entire event. We expect a crows well in the thousands for the finals on 7/29, so this is obviously a huge event for our program and university. We are simply hoping to put a good product out there so that we ensure we are given the right to host this event again next year. Here is the schedule for the Columbus leg of the NA4.
