Couple of things

1-Is Glen "Big Baby" Davis not coming out-he's like Tractor Traylor, except God intended him to be 6'8 320.

2-Why the hell is Josh Boone not in the top 10, and Tyrus Thomas is? Maybe they put the wrong forward from LSU down. That Italian dude must be pretty good to justify taking over Boone, if a PF is what you are looking for.

3-I'd take Brewer or Hassan Adams over Reddick any day of the week if picking for an NBA team.

4-I think the NBA is scouting the international guys a bit more closely now-not nearly as many as in past years.

I don't think this mock draft really considered what teams need in a player. I think it just ranked the order that the analyst thought players would be taken. (Particularly because noone knows how the lottery falls and there are still ~17 games in the season, I think).

I still dont understand how you people can take that mock draft seriously. The NBA season isn't over, so teams can still move all over the board, plus the lottery still has to happen and anything can happen then....the college basketball tournament isn't over yet either so players stocks can go up and down.

Don't start talking about the draft atleast until the lottery has taken place.

This mock draft isn't to be taken seriously, but it is a good starting point for discussions about players and possible draft picks for people's favorite teams. For any fans of teams that won't be in the lottery it isn't too hard to figure out around where they will be drafting. Most BP members seem to be Cavs fans, but I figured it would be better to open this thread to everyone rather than naming it "Who should the Cavs draft this year?"

IMO the Cavs need to draft the best PG they can get in the first round this season because that is the only way they will be able to get a top notch PG. They aren't going to have the salary cap room in the near future to sign a FA PG. The only other option would be to trade players already on the team. They are stuck with Jones and Snow for the next 3 seasons, and I don't see anyone else trading for those 2. In the second round the Cavs need to take a big physical PF that can out muscle other players. Offensive skill is not really required. The more I hear about him I like Pops Mensah-Bonsu from GW. He seems to have room to grow, but is already a good defensive player. It probably wouldn't hurt to use the other second round pick on a project PG that might develop to be good.
I'm not sure what the Cavs are going to do with Gooden. I just feel like he has too many brain farts to be worth the amount of money that he is going to be offered. I wouldn't be surprised if a team like Chicago would over pay for Gooden because he is exactly what they need and they have other players that could make up for his defensive lapses. A sign and trade is a possibility with him. Varejao needs to improve his offense, but it does seem like he has gotten better since last season.
If we didn't speculate about things way too early, what the hell would we spend our time on here at BP? :p

They updated the mock draft that I started this thread with. Does anyone know anything about Maurice Ager? Could he play PG. I have to think the Cavs will take a PG or PF in the first round this year.
Never happen, but what would you think about the Cavs trading Gooden to the Bulls for their second 1st round pick and taking Sheldon Williams?

Ager is a two guard all the way. He could of been a combo in college, but he is not a pg in the pros. He will be a nice 2 guard somewhere tho.

Yall seem to be interested so i'll tell you, Daniel Gibson is comming back to school. Also, I am not sure why people keep thinking that he is going to become some great point gaurd. He can shoot out the lights no doubt, but he is a turn over waiting to happen. He has played much better for us off the ball this year

Just saw it was updated again on the 10th... now it says we take Pittsnogle with our 1st pick... then Canter-Medley from Maryland and some guy from Israel in the 2nd.

I personally like Pittsnogle... he has a nice outside touch and has good toughness. I would only question his defense and speed which could be problems on the next level. He would probably get pushed around inside.

That being said... I would be extremely disappointed if the Cavs chose Pittsnogle with Dee Brown still on the board because I think he would fit perfectly with the Cavs.

No way that would be the stupidest draft ever. Pitsnogle = Donyell. Already have that piece of the puzzle.

Caner-Medley = Luke Jackson. Already have that.

We need a pg, and I don't care how Ferry does it, but he needs to get us a pg that can shoot the ball.
