2006 Big 33 Game Official Thread (merged all)

That wasn't a problem before. My question is, why do hold this game on the same day as the North-South Game?

Because Pennsylvania was tired of getting their asses handed to them every July, so they moved it to make sure we can't send a full contingient. If that's the way they want the Big 33 game to be played, then fuck 'em and pull out. Our North-South game trumps theirs Big 33 game.

I know, I like the North-South game much more. The bad thing about tonight is, is that they decided to show the Big 33 game. I wanted to see the North-South game, but it wasn't on.

Ohio's biggest mistake was going away from the run too early. Delone Carter could've put up 300 if he had enough carries. Haywood looked real good, and Elzy looked pretty solid too.

Tailback may have been the biggest strength of the Ohio team, yet the coaches decide to air it out with two pretty bad QB's. Johnson made plays with his feet, but he should not have been throwing more than 5 or 10 passes all game. He's just not a QB. And Scherpenberg is going D-2. They avoid a couple of those INT's and it's a different ballgame.

If Gibson can play under control and channel his emotions he's going to be a bad man on the field. He plays with bad intentions, in a good way. Put him at weakside LB and let him make plays at OSU.

Ohio only has 14 D-IA scholarship kids in this game, and the lack of depth showed in the second half on defense. Ohio had zero D-IA kids at LB and only two at DB (going to WVU and Akron). It doesn't take a superstar to take advantage of those mismatches.

Devlin was outshined by Dixon.

And those kids were either already enrolled at their respective school, or they played in the North-South Game, that was also tonight.
