Game Thread (2004) Game Ten: @ Purdue - 11/13/04 (L, 6-4/3-4)

We've beaten these guys two years in a row in very close, hotly contested games.

Purdue is a little shellshocked right now on a big slide and they haven't figured out how to stop it. Ohio State on the other hand is feeling very confident after three wins over respectable opponents

If Ohio State goes in and does some big stuff early (a la MSU game) we can take Ross-Aide out of the game. The key is to not rest on a 10 or 14 point lead like we have been doing. Play football. Keep trying to pass and keep trying to do different things. We can't keep being conservative.

Brandon Kirsch is a good quarterback. He is mobile and able to make some good throws on the run. Jerrod Void is a pretty good back and he has had decent games against us. And for some reason, everyone is sold on Stubblefield being this 'all world' receiver. He's very good, but he isn't great.

If the Bucks play sound defense and can find a running game early, we win this going away. If we can't get some ground yardage early and our defense is on the field for 13 of the first 15 minutes like the PSU game, we will lose.

Right on Scooter, we can not play concervative and expect to win out. For two weeks now we have gotten an early lead and tried to run the clock out on the last three quarters. However, I think the Smith Ginn combo will be too much for purdue to handle.....24-14 BUCKS WIN

Is Orton playing for this game? I think if he is, and he is healthy it could be a tough game. But on the other hand, they are in a hell of a slide right now... nice that we are catching them now and not 5-6 weeks ago.

How many of you (myself included) were DREADING this game until a few weeks ago. Now it looks like a game we should be able to take as long as we come out to play...

I was concerned about this game five weeks ago. But I am no less concerned about it now. Its at Ross Ade, Tressel ball keeps every opponent close, and we still don't have a very effective running game. This game could be a big win for us or the game the puts Purdue back on track. It can go either way.
