Good luck getting that back. At my buddies old apartment, him and his roomate both paid the same bill. When they called the electric co., they told them "tough luck", thank's for paying in advance.

I think there is a difference of scale here. Your example is paying 2x the amount. He paid 100x the amount. Plus we're talking about almost $2,000.

We have it pretty much worked out now, where they are going to return the money (minus this months bill of course), they are making me jump through an assload of hoops though. We filed and "affidafit of dispute" with the bank so we won't be getting fucked over with charges and whatnot there too. In the long, it is just going to take a while to get the $$ back into our account.

Unfortunately, most businesses will give you a hard time about returning your money.

But, the use of online bill paying is generally worth the less
hassle.
I have 95% of my bills consolidated into online payments.
The use of just one credit card for everything helps in the organization process.

I actually am pretty damn CFL compliant, as for the solar water heater, I suppose if I lived in the southwest that might be a viable option. Since I don't.....
