$2000.00 Electric bill

gregorylee

I'd rather be napping!!
Ok, so not really.

The last couple of month the AEP bill has been a little high, so with a little bit of extra cash around I though... What the hell, I use MyCheckFree.com to pay those sorts of bills. I schedule a $20 payment to go to AEP on last Friday (fucking date). Send it off and life is good. Doing a little budget planning on Sunday. I need a new weedeater, and as I have discussed before, I don't like buying cheap tools (been looking at the Stihl FS 110). At roughly $350 I need to check into such an expendature. So, off to bank.com I go too check the checking as savings accounts to see where we are and what I need to do to spend such $$'s.

I look at the savings, pretty much what I figured, on the the checking...

-$14.85 WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!!!!!! (I might have woke the neighbors with this, litterally). I pull up the itemized statement, and do what any man would do when looking at something that was purchased for $2000.00 "Honey, what the hell did you buy for 2 GRAND!!!!!!!!". Upon further review, I look into the "details" link in the statement "Amer Elec web initiated payment".... Oh Fuck, I didn't..... Of to "MyCheckFree.com" payment details link..... Oh Fuck, I did. In my $20.00 payment I omitted a very important thing..... One thing that I probably use more than any other person..... A "." So, for the last 4 days I have been arguing with the bank, mycheckfree, and AEP. I don't really want to just leave the 2k with you, my bill is now due, that is fine, keep the amount of my bill and please return the balance of the 2k. BTW, don't you think any single one of these company's would have some kind of flag system that would say "hey, this is unusual, let's check to make sure, and get approval" (hell, credit card company's do this so obviously it can be done).

So in closing I would just like to remind all of you fella's (ladies, most of you already know this)...

When your not just trying to get ahead, please be carefull of the period!

If your a home owner you might want to look into some sort of solar hot water system or solar electric. Or even look into better insulation or windows.
I used solar hotwater to cut the heating bills of my first house in half. It also provided very hot domestic water!
Other things that will save you on electricity are getting the energy efficient light bulbs.
And a new digital thermostat/s.

Attention span of a gnat sometimes that Taos - I swear!

Gregorylee gave AEP $1980 early payment dollars - he is done worrying about his electric budget till, roughly, 2010.

No shit, I don't think he caught that I was really only trying to send in $20.00 but I omitted the "period", but really it would only honestly cover me for 2 years or so.

damn....

I remember screwing up the trash bill (it was 33.10 and I paid them 331.00) but 2Gs is pretty good....

Keep the mega-polluting, Al Gore approved conventional light bulbs.

And Buckyle is right, you will probably have issues getting that money back.

Good luck getting that back. At my buddies old apartment, him and his roomate both paid the same bill. When they called the electric co., they told them "tough luck", thank's for paying in advance.

yep, you may have a tough time getting the $$ back. Companies like that do not usually issue "refunds" in the form of a check, they will put it towards your account. Look at it this way, no electric bill until 2009ish. Good luck.....it is funny as shit though.......
