'20 OH PG Zeb Jackson (PG ttun, transfer to VCU)

For those wondering about that last tweet, Weingarten had previously reported that Zeb Jackson would be announcing a commitment tomorrow afternoon (and this fresh off the heels of a Purdue visit).

And now that's changed and we don't know the announcement date for Zeb.

Jake Weingarten is a young guy trying to get into the sports reporting business. He's plugged in to a degree and he works hard but he doesn't have great credibility at the moment because he's kind of jumped the gun on info and predictions before.

That said, I have to assume he had some reason to say that Jackson was going to be announcing tomorrow, so if Zeb still announces soon, yeah, I don't know if that's great for the Buckeyes. At the same time, I would think a guy like Jackson who has a ton of upside and whose recruitment is just getting started with a lot of high majors would wait a LITTLE longer than this to explore his options (and also see what players the schools recruiting him now are going to sign in the Fall).

Jackson discussed with his family and have decided to not commit tomorrow. Has no rush only entering junior year. The highly touted guard, one of the most underrated in the country. Zeb being heavily recruited by UVA, Purdue, OSU, Butler, etc.

Hearing some things that don't make me feel warm and fuzzy about this recruitment.

We need to hope that Zeb really delays his decision.
jackson going elsewhere wouldn't at all surprise me. as mentioned earlier in the thread a few days after his offer, nothing about him struck me as an osu fan. anyway, i really do hope we get him, but i'm never going to cry over missing out on a 2-guard... even if it's an in-state player. there's always plenty of fish in the 2-guard sea.

Ohio State men’s basketball recruiting | Zeb Jackson still ‘wide open’ after Butler, Purdue visits
...

“I think he wants to be done with it by the time he starts his senior year,” Conover said. “I think he wants the process to be complete so that he can focus on getting ready. It’s a goal of his to not just play right away but to make an impact, so just getting him to a point where he can be done with the recruiting and have the peace of mind knowing he’s picked a school.”

...

Ohio State, which offered him long ago, remains firmly in the mix. Assistant coach Ryan Pedon has been Ohio State’s primary recruiter with head coach Chris Holtmann also active.

“They’re definitely in the running,” Conover said of the Buckeyes. “He really enjoys the relationship he’s built with coach Pedon and coach Holtmann has been calling him lately. I think if anything came out of the pump-fake that happened a couple weeks ago it may have shifted that timetable up a little bit. Zeb, he’s not big into the attention so I think a part of it is appealing that he’d like it to be done. But he’s also young. That’s where they’re at right now. He’s definitely close to narrowing it down.”

Two visits in two weeks? Was there a report that was off or are we about to get a committment?
I think he is delaying his decision for a while, so this just means tOSU is back "IN IT". He was leaning toward a Butler commitment a few weeks ago according to several sources. This is good news that he is visiting tOSU more now. I would not mind an ALL-OH class in 2020 of Penn, Loveday, Zeb. All 3 have offers and potential and are at positions that could use more depth ( particularly Loveday as Potter will be gone by then and who knows if Kaleb Wesson will go pro early by then as well - he has the potential ).
