'20 NJ PF Lance Ware (Kentucky Verbal)

yeah, given our needs -- or need, really -- for 2020, this one's a bit of a surprise. you'd assume that the staff would be narrowly focusing on centers and inside-out power forwards with some heft since all we have right now is one scholarship available. ware is an outside-in power forward, though. more of a power forward that tends toward small forward than a power forward that tends toward center. plenty of redundancy with gaffney and liddell, even sueing.

not sure what to make of this offer. will the staff just take the best player available whether the guy's a center like loveday, a power forward like ware, or a shooting guard like keon johnson? and if not a center, then will the staff just wait for kaleb's scholarship to open up next spring, which means assuming that we'll get a quality grad transfer center? will they oversign? might kaleb have learned enough from the tryouts that he's expecting to be a 4-year player? is someone looking to transfer? lots of questions. no clear answers.

whatever is going on, this offer is a spicy tuna roll.

through 13 games for ny rens (nike aau), ware is averaging 10 and 6 while shooting 56% (25/44) from the line. no 3-point attempts. yet to find his high school junior season stats, but he never made a 3-pointer either his freshman or sophomore season.

a bit of a challenge to project what kind of player he's going to become. look a bit like a more advanced but shorter version of jaxson hayes.
