#2 Ohio State 64, Penn State 62 (Final)

The thing about this team, is we are not all about the outside shot...

We have a guy that can put up 15 pts without and outsdie shot, then we have a big presence in the paint that will be able to put up 15. Then we are better on the defensive end this year than we were last year...

This team is not as relient on the outside shot as we were last year, but if we can hit our outside shots we are a very deadly team...

I don't usually comment in this forum. I think the Buckeyes have more defensive talent but for some reason they don't play team defense as well as last years team. Teams have been getting easy looks this year in the few games I have been able to catch. So I while the talent is there the team effort is not in my opinion.

Well we are really going to have agree to disagree on this one...

Dials was no where near the defensive threat that Oden is and we didnt have a second guy that could play a big guy down low and rebound like we have with Hunter. Also Harris is greatly improved defensively from last year, so is Lewis to an extent. We lost Jekel and Sullinger, but we have Lighty and Conley, and if I had a gun to my head I think that I would take Conley and Lighty on the defensive end, too go along with Butler...

The only thing we really struggle with is perimeter defense, but that is due in part to some close outs and not defending the pick n' roll that well, but I think since Oden has gotten into better shape he is defending the pick n' roll better than early in the season...

I was just going to say, most likely this game will be rescheduled.

PA is expecting a full blown blizzard tommorow.

Well that and they've had nothing but ice/sleet all day today as well....

I'm with you, I don't think this game will be played tomorrow...

I am in athens, and we had rain all day, now the fun begins as it is freezing over as we speak. Can't imagine how bad it would be adding 12 inches on top like it will in PA.

Yeah....

we had about 7 inches of snow before it went to straight sleet. We ended up getting about 2 more inches of that, and now it's all snow again.

And from looking at the radar, it'll stop snowing by about 6 AM or so (the snow goes back almost to St. Louis)....

Brookhaven grad Jamelle Cornley is averaging 14.2 points and 7 rebounds for Penn State.

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. ? Jamelle Cornley sat down before practice yesterday and without much hesitation ticked off the names of almost all 11 teams that beat him in four years of high school basketball.
If he could, he would click his heels and go to a place like that again. But he?s not at Brookhaven anymore.
"It?s probably one of the most frustrating things I?ve ever had to encounter," he said. "I was joking with somebody earlier that I don?t think I?ve ever lost anything nine times in a row, whether it be a video game, a shooting contest or whatever."

Buckeyes delayed by storm
Wednesday, February 14, 2007

The Ohio State men?s basketball team was forced to delay its trip to Penn State from last night to today because of a storm that dumped snow and freezing rain on central Ohio and even more on western Pennsylvania.
Dan Wallenberg, a spokesperson for the athletic department, said the team will fly into State College, Pa., in time for a noon shootaround, in advance of a game with the Nittany Lions tonight.
