the two other schools that are thought to be competing for goodwin are notre dame and villanova. immediately after goodwin decommitted, carmody committed to notre dame. goodwin and carmody are more or less the same player. furthermore, carmody isn't even notre dame's only shooting guard among their '18 commitments. i highly doubt they would take a third.
villanova? so far, they have commitments from a 6'6" sg (#47 per 247), a 6'6" sf (#42), and a 6'6" sf (#92). nova should also be taking a point/combo guard. weaver (6'4") is likely the guy since the wildcats are his dream school. regardless of who their pg/cg will be, i don't at all foresee nova taking another 6'4"ish shooting guard/forward.
so if goodwin doesn't commit again to osu, i'm not sure who it would be. until he takes a visit to a program that makes sense or until it's reported that osu is completely out of it, i'll continue expecting that he's going to be part of the '18 class.

though goodwin's been to dayton plenty, i'll wait until he takes an official to dayton to consider the flyers a serious possibility. my guess is he'll visit dayton soon. perhaps even ttun and a program or two.

well, consider me surprised that goodwin is going to notre dame after carmody committed there. losing goodwin is not a good look for holtmann at all.
