I am glad that I watched these two videos because, as you mentioned, he looks much better in these two videos than the one posted above. He looked awfully stiff in the Rivals video but not so much in these two videos. I guess the main question is can he guard the rim. The one problem with these highlight videos is that they are all offensively geared.
i think therein lies the concern. wesson, potter, and battin do not project to provide adequate interior defense. the athleticism would be lacking. that being stated, of the post players that i think holtmann currently has the best shot getting, battin appeals to me the most. i love the variability and efficiency of his offense. my guess, though, is that he'll pick up more offers from out west. 2018's frontcourt selection is weak, and schools are reaching as the pool of available talent dries up. and drawing left coast players to a midwestern school is already tough enough. as it stands right now, however, ohio state is his best offer.
not sure the "but" is necessary since you and i have more or less the same opinion. we've seen more than our share of offensive projects in the post: bell, mcdonald, giddens, lauderdale, funderburk, and williams. much of my apprehension of hayes is rooted in that history.
