#17 Ohio State 69 ,#9 Illinois 53 (Final)

I thought the crowd was the best they have been this year for any big game. Kudos for those on the sides for actually standing up and participating. The student section did their part, as usual. I came away very happy with the crowd yesterday. Great win for the Bucks.

My favorite two chants yesterday were "Overrated" which came with about 4-5 minutes to go. My absolute favorite was "Just like last year"........that was priceless.

This team is peaking at the right time, they are so fun to watch. Dials played very mean yesterday, I loved it. Butler was lights out, as well as Foster.

It's a great time to be a Buckeye!

great win yesterday... dials stepped up in a big way. He played big and that will be crucial if we are to make noise in March. Jekel's on fire, yet might have been our third best player yesterday (altho he played outstanding D on Dee). Butler is beginning to take over games. This will pay huge dividends in march, and even moreso when the roster is overhauled for next year.

wow. that would really be something. his new Bracketology will be out later today. I'll post it when I find it if nobody has yet.
And it's out.....

OSU is indeed a 2 seed playing in the Dayton regional. They face the#15 IUPUI, then Marquette/S.Illinois, then a possible matchup between UNC or a weak Florida team.
Unfortunately, they would be in the UConn bracket.

Cuse is a 12 seed out in San Diego :groove:

Seriously? Do you think the pollsters are influenced by crowd chants?
He didn't say anything about the pollsters. He probably just means it's a counterintuitive chant. You're basically saying "it's not that big of a deal that we beat you because you aren't really that good anyways. we shouldn't be impressed."

I always thought the "over-rated" chant meant you're rated #whatever right now, but you're about to fall.....so currently you're overrated.

The crowd will never be like it was at St. John's. That place just is BUILT for sound. If you play a game there...it's going to be LOUD!!! But you always will lose a TON of money. And the Schott was loud enough...I think some of us just compare it to St. John's.

You know, the more I think about it, you're right. I believe I'm also spoiled with the football stadium as well. When the football game is on t.v. you can hear the stadium roar and the announcers voices strain to stay loud. Just not the case at Value City. I need to go to another game this year to judge more for myself I guess.

Exactly! St. John's balcony hangs over the lower seats, so the lower sound is captured and amplified onto (and over) the court. The balcony sound just seems to come down on you. It combined for a great volume.

Furthermore, that balcony was steeply inclined, so the sight-lines were great.

I agree with Dow on the "overrated" cheer. It implies the opponent is not good. Rather, I like stuff that reflects our team's strength. The "Just Like Last Year" was clever.

A good thread to start would be our all-time favorite game chants. For mine in football, "Arch-ie", "Ed-die" and "Nuge" are up there.

Basketball, did we ever "Hoosier Daddy" at Bob Knight? Or did someone else (Purdue?) do that?
