I do not know what his status is with regard to Ohio State but Wesson committed pretty early and I would like to see how these guys play out in college before starting to make judgments regarding Matta's recruiting. I mean Culver was not even offered by Ohio State and I assume you know the reason why because I do not. Just make the assumption that he will be a better player in college then Wesson. Is Culver the next promising in-state product to be overlooked by TM and his staff? Kind of seems that way.

In the 247 Composite Rankings, Culver is #48 and Wesson is #59, so I wouldn't consider this settling for an OK player that wants to be at OSU over an elite player. I think the body type is the difference here as Culver is similar in stature to Funderburk and there is no comparison for size in that class to Wesson.
Imagine in a couple years still having Giddens and Bell, along with Potter and Funderburk, then throwing in Wesson at 280lbs. I read previously that Wesson's still growing and should end up between 6'10-6"11.
Your problem isn't so clear from my perspective. Are you saying that Matta should have not taken a verbal from Potter or Funderburke so that he could hold out another year to maybe get Culver to go along with Wesson?Clearly part of the problem is it isn't just Wesson keeping Matta from being able to offer Culver a scholarship. But certainly I do have doubts about that judgment if the case was it was an either/or with Wesson and Culver, as it seems like a case once again where Matta settled for the early verbal and he may very well be letting the better prospect get away.
Where do you get that information from Also, regarding early verbals of guys that are pretty close in talent, I guess you want Matta to wait on a guy and then have him standing on the altar with no one. Also, basketball recruiting is a crapshoot and you, of all people, should know that when it comes to players that are pretty similar.Clearly part of the problem is it isn't just Wesson keeping Matta from being able to offer Culver a scholarship.
