#15 Oral Roberts vs #2 tOSU, Fri 3 ET on CBS

Tony Bennett showed the same when #1 overall seed Virginia lost to 16 seed UMBC by 20 points. Good thing UVa didn't overreact. The next year they cut down the nets.

No, that doesn't mean I'm predicting an OSU NC next year. It means college kids sometimes act like college kids, overconfident and overlooking an opponent. Even the best coaches can't overcome it, sometimes. Coach K and Izzo have both lost 2 vs 15 games. Coach K also lost a 3 vs 14 game. Obviously, he can't coach. :roll1:

I didn’t say he should be fired nor did I say he couldn’t coach.

He’s had issues with closing games during the most important stretch of the season. Part of that is coaching and knowing what to do when the team starts to struggle. I think he’s a good coach, but I think he has limitations. This wasn’t a completely isolated, random upset.

If we had made it past ORU, we would have played drastically better against Florida. Not saying we would have won, but we would have made it close. Because that's the one thing this team did super consistently: made games close. Which is both a good (the comeback vs. Illinois) and bad (yesterday) thing. More frequently bad given that we threw away leads like they were trash.

But yeah, anyways, if Oral Roberts plays Florida like they did us, they will lose by double digits. And Florida isn't very good!

The only thing that really needs changed is bleeding the clock and lack of urgency offensively with late leads. They seemed to be way too relaxed with two possessions they had up 4 around 2 minutes left. Can't take the foot off the gass offensively, got to be just as sharp then if not sharper than other points in the game. Two careless turnovers vs ORU when they could have iced the game.

Also, CH also needs to teach this team how to draw the torso body brush fouls that ORU drew a handful of, some leading to crucial foul shots, and OSU didn't draw any of them. But maybe it wasn't all coaching, as I also saw ORU #14 put his right arm straight out into the chest of a driving CJ as he shot a layup and not get called for a foul.

Saw the coach post game... calmly but emotionally pissed... very PC
they knew exactly what ORU game plan was... going in... the players knew...
pack the middle... surprised they extremely packed the middle.. to the point they
literally left shooters wide open... intentionally left 2 shooters wide open
he felt that strategy would doom ORU but shooters choked...
which messed with their heads and stupid turnovers...
game

said they missed Kyle's mental and physical toughness

If any of you fuckers in these threads are the ones sending threats to Liddell (or any other player, in any sport) then you should be totally ashamed of yourself and I dare you to stop hiding behind your keyboard and head down to xxx Nelson Pl. Apt xxx, Newport KY. 41071 so I can kick the shit out of you for it. I'm waiting.

I haven't read all of this thread, but what little I did read wasn't giving ORU enough credit. I thought they were incredibly well coached, loved how they moved the basketball, and they have some talented scorers. I did not think they were a typical 15 seed. Abmus is pretty special.

We obviously seemed to be over confident. The ball game came down to free throws and we spit the bit. Plain simple. We lost at the FT line.

For the most part, we exceeded preseason expectations, but we played so well with the nice pick ups of some transfers that our expectations grew and we were disappointed by the ending.
