'13 PA ATH Robert Foster (Alabama Signee)

Lets face it, the best teams win with the best players.
Its much easier to win games by recruiting the most talented players with less emphasis on attitude or maturity, rather than take the less talented player with a wiser head on his shoulders. Yes thats a blanket statement but show me the team winning national titles with only 3-star rated recruits. Talented kids, reguardless of maturity are obviously dedicated to their craft to a greater scale than most others.

Not to mention, its a coaches job to coach. A coach can be a powerful influence in a kids life, much like a father figure. A coach not only can help a person to be a better football player but also a better human being in life. I'm sure meyer has had that impact on many different kids throughout his career.

Of all the blanket statements you threw out there, this is the truly bad one.

whats the alternative, they were born better than everyone else?
I was making the point, that maturity has nothing to do with talent.
Weather they are mature or not doesnt prevent a kid from being the best, the best teams will go after the best players...thats what it seems we are doing here.

Even more false than the last quote I called out.

Talent is potential that gets wasted all the time by a lack of discipline, responsibility & smart decisions, all actions driven by maturity.

Or they feel that Robert has made strides.

this whole thing is bunk since coaches aren't permitted to meet with kids at their school until december. so, clearly half of this article is rubbish from the start. given the source, hardly a surprise.

for some reason i thought the dead period was this month. too much cold medicine and pain meds.

38 made a comment that was pretty far off the mark. Why shouldn't J have challenged it?

Of course he could have summed it up in just two words: Duron Carter

Finally confirmed in a free portion of a premium article:

One of the most sought-after seniors in the country is closing in on an announcement.

Robert Foster (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley), the No. 2 receiver nationally, will likely decide his future before a school break for the holidays, Central Valley coach Mark Lyons said. Lyons said the announcement could come Dec. 19, Dec. 20 or Dec. 21.

Foster has taken official visits to Alabama and Pittsburgh, which was his most recent visit. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound receiver is down to the Tide and Panthers.

Ohio State visited Foster's high school last week but the Buckeyes are not a factor in Foster's recruitment at this point.
