Allerik Freeman, 2013 Guard, Sets Up Pair of Visits

At 6-foot-4, Allerik Freeman has been one of the most highly sought-after recruits within the class of 2013.

Freeman?s recruitment blew up in the summer of 2011 as many high-major programs continued to get on board for the services of the Charlotte, N.C. native.

Freeman, who cut his list down five finalists earlier in the summer, is considering Duke, UCLA, Ohio State, Villanova and Kansas.

On Thursday, Freeman tweeted out a pair of visits that he now has lined up during the month of September.

The shooting guard will visit UCLA on Sept. 7 and then Ohio State on Sept. 14.

No, you're not, but many schools choose to release any prospects that ask. There is also an appeal process to get out of a LOI.

Also, if a school makes a side agreement to let a prospect walk if the head coach or assistant coach leaves, they can be penalized for that. Such a backwards system that takes advantage of the player.

You're right. I suppose it's a courtesy extended by most schools though, as it seems to be closer to the rule than the exception.
