Strengths:
A powerful forward who already owns a man's body, Selden is strong as an ox and able to overpower virtually anyone in his age bracket. He goes strong to the rim, going right at any shot-blocker, and consequently getting to the free-throw line in high volume. He is at his best in the open floor where he combines his power with some break-away athleticism and good instincts. While he is naturally a good passer, his perimeter skill set is also coming along with both his three-point shot and mid-range pull-up vastly improved.
Weaknesses:
While Selden shows glimpses of explosive athleticism in the open floor, the rest of his game is void of any explosion. He doesn't have an explosion first step, won't rise up in a congested lane, and shoots a set shot off both the catch and the dribble. His ceiling is likely to be determined by how he progressing physically. If he doesn't grow more, he could plateau as a six-foot-four combo-forward.
Bottom Line:
A physically dominant player, Selden dominates players in his own age bracket but will need to continue to get more skilled and learn to incorporate his athleticism into his game as his peers begin to catch up with him physically.

Wayne Selden doesn?t mince words when discussing his status among the top players in the class of 2014.
?I?m the best player in the country,? Selden said. ?I don?t think it?s that I?m better than everyone; it?s just my will to win. I think I?m the best player every time I step on the court.?
Selden, a 6-foot-4 Tilton (N.H.) product, has other things to prove as well.
?I want to show I?m not a small forward,? he said. ?I have guard skills, I can guard other guards.?
The BABC stud has offers from Kentucky, West Virginia, Boston College, Pittsburgh and Connecticut, as well as interest from Ohio State, Duke and others.
