He's the half-brother of 2011 football recruit Jeremy Cash.

Malik Price-Martin

To be impressed by a 15-year-old speaks volumes about him and his potential. Price-Martin has a wide variety of offensive skills with a long and lean body. He scores the ball in the high post by driving to the basket or hitting a jumper. He also demonstrated the the range to step out and shoot the 3. However, he needs to stay low when handling the ball and "clip the hip" of his defender to score the ball more effectively on his drives. Price-Martin will also attack the offensive glass and try to score second-chance points. Defensively, he changes/blocks shots with his wingspan and body length. When he rebounds on the defensive end, teams must be wary of his ability to use a bust-out dribble and go coast to coast. As he gets stronger and develops his already-advanced skill, he will be an ideal small forward. This young man is also very coachable and mature, which will serve him well both on and off the court.

Price-Martin Takes Visit to Miami
by Alex Schwartz

Pushing 6-foot-9 and tipping the scales at 195 pounds, power forward Malik Price-Martin of Monsignor Pace star is one of the top ranked class of 2013 players in the nation.

He is hearing from schools all over the nation and lists offers from South Carolina, Miami, Ohio State, Syracuse, and Georgia Southern. In addition, Price-Martin said he is hearing from Louisville, Texas, Kansas State, Florida, and Florida State.

Asked if he has any favorites at this point, Price-Martin replied, ?No, everything is pretty much wide open.?

It did not take long for new University of Miami head coach Jim Larranaga to get the elite 2013 prospect on campus for a visit, as he visited UM last night. Price-Martin took the 30-minute trip to Coral Gables and visited the ACC school with his father.

USA U16 national team

Malik Price-Martin (Miami/Monsignor Pace)
2013, PF, 6-8, 187 pounds
Price-Martin ran the floor like a deer and finished above the rim on all clear paths and angles. He excels in transition and also makes his presence felt on the glass with his length and quickness to the ball, which enables him to block and contest shots in and out of his area. In the post, he will drop step but is much more comfortable facing and attacking off the dribble from short distances. Price-Martin can also hit the short corner jumper with time and space. He must work on his back-to-the-basket scoring and add strength but the active power forward has great upside.

Here?s a sneak preview of some prospects who will draw the attention of Matta and his assistants this month:

Malik Price-Martin
Height, Weight: 6-8, 187
Position: Power Forward
School: Miami Gardens (Fla.) Pace
ESPN Ranking: 7th among PFs, 21st overall in class of 2013
Considering: Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Ohio State, South Carolina, Syracuse, Texas
Camp This Week: adidas Invitational
Outlook: Price-Martin doesn?t have a chiseled physique but what he does have is a whole lot of game. He?s a four-man who can shoot comfortably from fairly deep, runs the floor like a guard and holds his own in the post and on the glass. In fact, his long arms, springy legs and impressive timing make him a very effective offensive rebounder and nasty backside shot blocker. He?s listed Ohio State consistently and there is a connection for the Buckeyes: He?s the half-brother of OSU safety Jeremy Cash. Landing this gazelle out of the Sunshine State would be quite a coup for Matta and staff.

Malik Price-Martin, Class of 2013 power forward from Pace High School in Miami (FL), mentioned six schools and said he holds offers from all of them. The half dozen were Connecticut, Ohio State, Texas, Syracuse, Louisville and Miami.

?That?s just the ones that?s recruiting me the most,? Price-Martin said.

Asked if he has any favorites, Price-Martin replied, ?No, not really. Everything [is] pretty wide open.?

Price-Martin, who said ?probably UConn? is the school coming at him the hardest, has taken visits to Ohio State, Miami and UConn.

He does not have any visits planned and does not have a timetable for a commitment.

Location will not be a factor for Price-Martin, who said he is looking for ?just playing time and education.?
