Negus Webster-Chan, the No. 70th ranked prospect of the 2012 Basketball Class will be taking an unofficial visit to Kentucky this weekend, according to Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford.

Webster-Chan is a 6-6, 175 lb Small Forward out of Canada, Scarborough, Ontario and played for the AAU Team, Team Takeover Canada.

A versatile prospect with a unique skill set, Webster-Chan said he?s an all-around player with a very unselfish game.

?I like to play defense first,? he said. ?I can shoot the ball from three now and my shot is more consistent. I can break down my man and make some plays at the basket. I have a mid-range and I?m a team player.?

?This fall I?m probably going to go on some unofficial visits,? Webster-Chan said. ?I definitely want to visit Ohio State, UNLV, USC and Kentucky.?

Louisville lands basketball recruit
Posted on December 22, 2010 by jdemling

Huntington (W. Va.) Prep School junior forward Negus Webster-Chan has given a verbal commitment to the University of Louisville.

The 6-foot-6 Webster-Chan was offered a scholarship last night after U of L coach Rick Pitino watched his game and committed this afternoon, according to his coach Rob Fulford. Huntington is getting ready to play a game in Ironton, Ohio, so Webster-Chan won?t be available for reaction until later.

PUBLISHED Tuesday, Apr 19, 2011
Staff report Sporting News

Huntington (W. Va.) Prep F Negus Webster-Chan, the No. 26 small forward in the class of 2012 according to Rivals.com, has rescinded his commitment to Louisville, according to multiple recruiting websites.

Webster-Chan said he no longer felt comfortable with Louisville because of changes in Rick Pitino?s staff, The Recruit Scoop reported.

?I had a great relationship with Coach (Mark) Lieberman and with his new role (as Director of Basketball Operations), I just didn?t feel like it was the best fit for me,? Webster-Chan, a 6-7 small forward, told The Recruit Scoop. ?I appreciate all of the Louisville fans that have showed their support for me and hope they understand.?

Huntington coach Rob Fulford says Webster-Chan will take all five official visits next year, and make a decision in the spring.
