'12 TX LB Dalton Santos (Texas signee)

Santos is the top must get on the defensive side of the ball, imo. Impact MLB's are priceless and Dalton fits the bill. Very, very similar size and skill set as Bama LB Nico Johnson who Urban went hard after a few years ago. Great offer list with schools that are highly respected for their LB recruiting and development. Would be ecstatic to land him.

I like this post and think we should steer the conversation in this direction.

The Texas/MLB connection has me thinking Schlegel, although I haven't watched film yet so I don't know if that is a good comparison or not.

Also like bigdogg alluded to he's very much in the mold of those big Alabama MLB's over the last few years.

Or Brandon Spikes, two-time All American at Florida, and arguably the second most important member of Meyer's Gator dynasty behind Tim Tebow.

Go here and look at all the LBs Alabama at 240+ lbs...10 of their 16 LBs are 240+ including three at 260+. In fact, with the exception of Rowdy Harrell at 219 lbs, every single one of their LBs (that's 15 of 16) are 234+ lbs.

Brandon Spikes was actually 2nd in my mind, but had a slightly longer, leaner frame coming out of HS and had better lateral movement to me, although Santos' excels better at play diagnosing.

We're going to see a slightly different mentality when it comes to LB's than we've been used to, especially at MLB. If you've got OSU, Bama, Okla. offers and you're a LB...I'm a fan :)

Schutt, SeVon, Spence... maybe Santos, Williams, Reeves, Decker... all flipped?

Winston would have to come for the pattern alone.
