Supposedly has tosu on his short list. Keep in mind he's only a FRESHMAN IN HIGH SCHOOL. Also, he has said that Terrelle is one of his favorite athletes.

im on rushel's team the Hopewell Vikings and im a sophmore and hes a freshman.. but he is an amazing freshman.. he would suprise you if you saw him.. he is a respectful kid who will make it far in life.. in his first varsity game he only ran 6 to 8 plays and scored 3 touchdowns.. if that isnt good against the 5th ranked team in the wpial at the time i dont know what is... and all he talks about is pryor.. he won freshman of the nation, co-mvp of the hopewell vikings this year, fabulous 22, and a bunch of other awards.. Tony Dorsett went to hopewell high school and had 1,250 rushing hards as a junior and rushel passed him as a freshman and he didnt even start for the first 5 games..

He really looks up to Terrelle. Once he gets into the thick of recruiting in a few years, that may be in our favor....that is, ya know....after Terrelle wins the next 3 Heismans.

That seems unlikely. Everybody knows that Jimmy Clausen is going to win the next 6 Heisman's. This kid is Class of '12? He looks like he could be ready to go now!

MaxPreps Fresh Faces Class of 2012 Top 100 - MaxPreps Articles

Rushel Shell, RB, Hopewell (Aliquippa, Pa.)

MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year Rushel Shell had arguably the finest season of any ninth grader last year. The 6-0, 210-pound Shell gained 1,156 yards and scored 14 touchdowns despite not being a starter until week six.

Shell has speed in the 4.4 range and can already bench press 300 pounds. He has drawn comparisons to another Hopewell product, Tony Dorsett.

?The great thing about it is he earned everything he got. Nothing was given to him,? said head coach Dave Vestal.

According to Vestal, Pitt, Ohio State and Notre Dame are all recruiting Shell early on.

Oh sweet mother...1200 yards as a freshman, without starting until game 6? 4.4 speed as a FRESHMAN...before his body is even fully matured? 300 pound benchpress?

Pleeease stay a Runningback; this guy is going to be the second coming. I'm glad OSU is in on this early...
At 5'11, 209lbs his freshman year, He could be 6'2" 230lbs by his senior season. He might even be the #1 RB in the country that year if he stays healthy and continues to improve. Love that we're in on him early.

Rushel Shell

Hopewell

DATA
Height: 5-11 Weight: 215

Position: RB/DB

Year: Sophomore

? THE SKINNY: A year ago, Shell had one of the best seasons of any freshman running back in WPIAL history when he rushed for 1,576 yards on 181 carries and had three consecutive 200-yard games. He is quick, cuts well and is very strong. His body doesn't look like that of a 15-year-old sophomore. Although Shell's forte is offense, he also will play defense this season at cornerback or safety.

? COLLEGE TALK: Pitt offered him a scholarship last year as a freshman. A number of major colleges already are showing interest in him.

? ARE YOU STRONGER THIS YEAR? I don't lift weights that much, but I'm stronger. I just do mostly pushups and pullups.

? HOW IS LIFE DIFFERENT FOR YOU THAN A YEAR AGO, WHEN NO ONE KNEW YOU OUTSIDE OF HOPEWELL? Everything I do seems like it's magnified now. I have to watch what I do and make sure it's the right thing. It's just more stressful than I expected. I'm still only 15 years old, but let's say I go to a party. It seems like everyone knows and then they'll make stuff up about me. Last year, if I went to a party, no one would care.

? WHERE CAN YOU IMPROVE FROM LAST YEAR? In everything. You can never be perfect in anything you do. The more you practice, the better you get.

? DO YOU HAVE ANY GOALS? I want the team to go further than last year -- and I want to play better than last year.

? DO YOU EVER WORRY ABOUT SOMEDAY GETTING TOO BIG TO BE A HALFBACK? That's not really a worry. To be honest, I never really thought about it.

? YOU'D LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH ... Terrelle Pryor. I don't know, but he's kind of like an idol to me.

? IF YOU'RE STRANDED ON A DESERT ISLAND, YOU'D LIKE TO BE WITH ... Kim Kardashian.

? PEOPLE MIGHT BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT ... I watch Hannah Montana.

PG West: After an eye-popping freshman year, it appears the sky is the limit for Hopewell running back

As a freshman, Rushel Shell rushed for 1,516 yards for the Hopewell Vikings and scored 14 touchdowns.Hopewell coach Dave Vestal doesn't think it is fair to compare Rushel Shell with Tony Dorsett ... and for good reason.

"Tony Dorsett is one of the top running backs in NFL history," Vestal said. "Rushel has a long way to go to match Tony's accomplishments. It's not appropriate to compare the two this early in Rushel's career. But I do have to admit that Rushel is off to a good start."

Shell rushed for 1,516 yards on 181 attempts last season, which averaged to 8.4 yards per carry. He scored 14 touchdowns, including one on a kickoff return.

"Hopewell has been fortunate to have some very good running backs, like Dorsett, Paul Posluszny, Jared Raines, and Mike Elmore, just to name a few," Vestal said. "Rushel is now on that list. How far Rushel moves up that list is up to him."

Shell, who is 5-feet-11, 210 pounds, opened the season with a promising performance, but didn't become Hopewell's feature back until the second half of the year. He carried the ball six times against Knoch in the opener and gained 87 yards, scoring on runs of 55, 8, and 15 yards.
