'12 IL OL Jordan Diamond (Auburn Signee)

But do you really want to compete against 7 other possible OT`s for a starting spot.....and I think a true tackle trying to play guard can be a nightmare. OG`s tend to be a different body type....besides OT is the $$$$$$ in the NFL. Go Bucks

Free 247 - A sought after Diamond in Chicago

Jordan Diamond the person hasn?t changed since he started walking and talking while growing up in Chicago.

"He has been the same from the time he started walking to now and he's 18," his mother Angela Diamond began. "To me he's a big ole kid with a huge heart. That's how he's been from day one to today. If you didn't know he played football, then you wouldn't know he played football."

Of course with the exception of Diamond's size.

One of the nation's most sought after offensive tackles out of Simeon High, the 6-foot-6, 290-pound Diamond has definitely changed from a physical standpoint.

At this time a little over four years ago, Angela had to purchase Jordan a size 48 suit for his eighth grade graduation. Around that time she took him to a pediatrician for a physical, where she says Jordan weighed in at 350 pounds.

"It was a fat 350, not a muscular 350," she added.

"I was always scared for him because he was so big. My biggest fear was someone would try and mess with him. That was always my fear when he was in grammar school. It turned out none of that ever happened to him."

Now folks are scared to line up across from Diamond.

Continued...

While Diamond is beginning to keep his recruitment close to the vest, one SEC program has climbed up the list for his mother.

"I'm going to say this," she began. "Every place we went, we liked. Some were better than others, but each school we went to we liked them for one or two different things that the other schools didn't have. My personal preference school wise is Arkansas.

"There's going to be a couple schools out of the area like Oregon that I know I'm going to take an official visit," Diamond said. "Arkansas when they play LSU, that might be one. A couple Wisconsin games. Notre Dame, Iowa, Miami, a Tennessee game and Michigan."

Good read...

Honestly, I thought Diamond would be a TSUN commit by now... for the first time ever, I'm hoping for a Jan-Feb commit for a kid on the tOSU radar...

It makes so much sense for a premier OT to want to come to Ohio State in this class. The chance to start immediately is not an exaggeration.

Any stud TACKLE that wants playing time should jump in this class asap. I hope JD does I think he plays right away......same for Dodson(LT) or Kalis(RT). I think sometimes the depth chart at a great school is just too good to pass up. Go Bucks
