Scout Evaluation said:
Agholor is an athlete with a lot of ability on the field. He is just a natural in the secondary and he could be a ball-hawking safety on the next level. He needs to add weight and muscle and become a little more physical, but he has great ball skills, he breaks on the ball well, and he has a lot of range in the secondary. He is a very fluid athlete that can change direction well and he has great instincts too. - Chad Simmons

Scout Bio said:
Junior: Named First Team All-Hillsborough County by Tampa Tribune. 1,440 offensive yards, 3 interceptions, and 323 return yards.

Sophomore: Agholor had 950 yards rushing, 14 TDs, and 239 yards receiving with 3 TDs. On defense had 31 tackles and 4 interceptions.

Freshmen: As a freshmen had 1400 all-purpose yards, and five interceptions on defense.

Is there a highlight video of a prospect on the internet that doesn't have some Illinois fan saying they have a shot? :slappy:

I don't think I can quote much from a paid subscription but Nelson said this today "Anyone would be honored to be recruited by Coach Meyer."

-From ESPiN suscription web site (sorry, I know that is a dirty word around here but I am limited in my experience with good resources)

For my 2 cents though, I have watched this kids videos and been amazed at how he FLIES during the punt/kick returns. Is it just me or is he FAST? I can't believe how fast the impact of Urban is already. I'm starting to realize just how much he will impact our talent level. Wow.

:oh:

Don't know what chance we stand, but this kid is absolutely elite. I didn't know we ever offered but if we could get a shot, I'm sure Urban takes it.

EDIT: I-O!

a recruit like this from out of state is someone we always had a outside chance with when JT was coach...but now with urban its a huge possibility...we may not even have a shot with this kid but the odds are alot better now

Nelson is scheduled to officially visit Florida this weekend.

Weis' departure is a pretty big wrench in their spokes, particularly since the negative recruiting that "Urban WRs take handoffs and block" suddenly loses its counter punch / punch of playing in a pro style offense.

of course there's the matter of Cooper, Murphy & Harvin doing well in the league.

Or weis' offense not using the WRs l, as demps and, reed led the team with receptions, though not that many.

I went looking for chatter about Nelson before the Weis news broke, and while many of the above narratives were in play, as well as the bare cupboard, or not developing the 09 team...

But none of them compared to the many posters hoping he talked with UF players to learn how dishonest Urban was. Talk about irony.

I feel for the kid, but he will land on his feet.

If you thought his recruitment was intriguing before, just wait.

Nelson Agholor Rescheduling Florida Visit After Charlie Weis Departure?
Dec 08
by Bud Elliott

Charlie Weis' timing was really quite poor for the Florida Gators. After a poor offensive showing in his only year with Florida, Weis abruptly quit and took the Kansas head coaching job. And he did so less than 36 hours before Florida was set to host one of, it not the biggest recruiting weekends it will have in the 2011-2012 recruiting cycle.

Questions immediately arose regarding how Florida would handle the recruiting weekend without its offensive coordinator, perhaps without its offensive line coach, and with the rest of the offensive staff in limbo:

It could be a hugely detrimental move on Weis' part given that Florida has a big list of offensive recruits visiting campus this weekend. Specifically, No. 1-rated athlete Nelson Agholor (Tampa, FL) is scheduled to visit UF, where he is believed to be leaning. Agholor wants to play receiver at the next level. Without an offensive coordinator, it will be difficult for UF to showcase how it plans to use Agholor. And none of the offensive assistants can be sure that they will be at UF next year, either.

As for Agholor, he appears to be conflicted:

Is there any link between him and OSU? I haven't heard anything significant about him and there being contact with the coaches.
So far just recruiting site lip service and unsubstantiated rumors (from random people), but most had him as a heavy Gator lean before this fallout.

Three visits down for Nelson Agholor
Mon. December 19, 2011 | Joey Knight

Before suiting up for his first basketball game of the season Monday, Berkeley Prep ATH Nelson Agholor dropped a subtle hint as to whom he might suit up for next fall.

"I'm not going to a school I don't take an official visit to, I know that much," he said Monday.

Translation: Oklahoma, Florida and Notre Dame are formally candidates for his services. Agholor, 12th in the latest Rivals100 national rankings, has been to all three campuses, having visited Norman over the weekend.

He said no other official trips are planned at this time, and he doesn't know when he'll reveal his college of choice.

Arguably the state's top recruit, Agholor has missed the dawn of basketball season while nursing a deep contusion to his right shoulder sustained midway through the Buccaneers' Class 3A state semifinal defeat at Delray Beach American Heritage. He planned to suit up Monday in his team's on-campus holiday tournament, but said he doubted if he'd play.
