As a side note: I recently found out Davonte is a cousin of mine. My grandmother & his grandmother are 1st cousins. Doesn't mean much, but the world shrinks everyday.

Which means you share one set of great-great-grandparents. That makes you third cousins, btw. :nerd:

Edit: Now call your cousin and get him to come to Ohio State.

saw this on Friday Night Lights one time...so im pretty sure his high school coach will figure it out

LOL @ this...exactly what I was thinking! But man, those Dillon Panthers on that dream team.....

Davonte is an exceptional athlete, capable of making an impact on either side of the ball. The unpredictability so late in this recruitment combined with the emergence of a home state school with Rich Rod makes me agree with south's sentiment...not liking the direction of this one.

ESPN - Davonte Neal recaps visit to Arkansas

1/23

Davonte Neal (Scottsdale, Ariz./Saguaro) took his third official visit to Arkansas over the weekend. Neal, the nation's No. 8 player, had previously visited Ohio State and Notre Dame.

?The first thing that jumped out to me about Arkansas was the academic set up,? Neal said. ?I want to go in to sports broadcasting and at most schools, you have to wait until at least your sophomore year to really do much. At Arkansas, you can get behind the scenes right away and that?s pretty intriguing to me.

?From a football standpoint, Arkansas is a pretty incredible place. The facilities are crazy and they have a 100-yard weight room, which is the biggest I?ve seen so far. I like the coaches a lot and have talked to them so much, it honestly feels like I?m talking with family. Coach [Bobby] Petrino is a great guy, and I love Coach K [Chris Klenakis]. He has been recruiting me all year, and we?re very close.?

NBC - Irish head down recruiting home stretch

1/23

Davonte Neal, WR: Notre Dame was able to get the first official visit for Neal, one of the Southwest?s premiere playmakers, who waited until after winning the Arizona state championship to take any official visits. The Irish are in good shape, but will likely battle through Signing Day for Neal, who plans on taking his time making a decision.

Expect Urban Meyer and the Ohio State Buckeyes to be the team to beat, with Neal having family in Ohio and getting the Meyer sales pitch that he?ll play the role of Percy Harvin. (That said, don?t count out Rich Rodriguez, now for the hometown Arizona Wildcats.)

What he?d bring to ND: It?s almost ridiculous to imagine the Irish landing both Neal and Agholor, giving the Irish three of the top players in the country at their position. Neal would immediately be the Irish?s most dangerous athlete in the slot, and his recruiting tape is about as impressive as it gets.

Anybody know what Arkansas is recruiting him as? They already have a WR haul that is nothing short of spectacular (not to mention numerous), and they stand about as good a chance as anyone with DGB. Their whole receiver corps has a fantastic looking mix of size and speed, and it's almost ridiculous to think about them having a chance to add either of these guys to that mix.
