#11 The Ohio State University @ #12 Maryland, Tuesday, Jan 7 @ 7:00 PM, ESPN

Gosh, I’m awfully sad that I wasn’t able to watch the game tonight. I knew they wouldn’t be able to shooting the way they were in a December but I definitely did not expect such a huge drop off when they went cold. They have to bottom out at some point right?

Life just hasn't been the same since that fumble call

Was just thinking the same thing, been a depressing last couple weeks for Ohio State athletics. Glad the wrestling team gave me the joy of beating an ASU team I thought we were for sure losing to, only saving grace lately. But pulling out of that nosedive of a stark assessment, I think we have seen this team is capable of great things when they play to their capabilities. I hope this is a midyear slump and nothing else, but honestly pretty worried at this point.

I was pretty worried when Washington got his injury. Knew that was probably gonna ice him and throw off our offense because, let's face it, this is not a team with a lot of natural offensive talent. Our only non-frosh T100 player who is playing right now is Luther, every bit of his ranking based on D and not his scoring or playmaking. We were making it work earlier because guys were hitting the open shots that they are missing now. Also, we really miss Kyle. He cleaned up so much stuff and converted whereas tonight I think we had something like 7 points on 15 offensive rebounds. Also, the cutting actions with Kyle were vital. Now we are down to Kaleb post-ups and outside shots, and the outside shooting is abysmal.

Kyle should be back soon but the problem is that the Funk is very much in progress and now we get no breaks from tough games. The guard play needs to be so much better than this. That is really disconcerting. I had concerns with this coming into the season cuz DJ being a frosh and how CJ looked at FSU, but I thought both Luther and Duane would be a bit more consistent, at least. It is probably unfair to judge Duane with the rib thing, but that setback gets compounded when Luther is even MORE unreliable.

Kyle will definitely help but I just worry that it feels like we are already stalling out while a lot of other B1G teams have been improving and getting rolling.
