'11 OH TE Ray Hamilton (Iowa Signee)

Interesting take on the game from a recruit's perspective...

Ohio State-Iowa game was a bummer - cleveland.com

Editor's note: Strongsville tight end Ray Hamilton is taking readers inside his team's huddle by writing a blog for cleveland.com throughout the 2010 football season.

This week flew by. but it was enjoyable, starting with high school football.

St. Edward continued its dominance in the area by beating Solon, 42-14. If the Glenville win was not convincing enough for followers, this one should be.

I have played against Solon and its a very good football team. For St. Ed's to beat them like they did, shows everyone who is following them just how dangerous and lethal the Eagles are.

I am going out on a limb right now. St Ed's will win the State Championship.

I am rooting for them because they're showing just how good football is in Northeast Ohio.

Good luck to them next week, and congratulations to Solon on an outstanding season. They earned everything they achieved this year.

My best friend Jack Miller, and his Toledo St. John Titans lost to Toledo Whitmer, 14-10, in a nailbitter but congratulations to the whole team on a great season. Jack will play for Michigan next season, and I can't wait to play against him in the Big Ten!

I took my official visit to Iowa over the weekend.

An official visit is paid for by the college, compared to an unofficial visit where the school cannot pay for anything.

The visit was everything I expected and more.

I flew out Friday morning, and arrived in Cedar Rapids, Iowa around 1 in the afternoon. I then headed to Iowa City, where the University of Iowa is located. I made it in time to get some lunch with the coaching staff, and I then got to spend time with Coach (Kirk) Ferentz.

Shoutouts to all of the troops protecting our country.

USA is No. 1 and in the great words of Iowa quarterback Ricky Stanzi, "There is nothing better than being American."

God bless and Happy Thanksgiving.
