OFFERS: Iowa, Pitt, Rutgers, Indiana, Akron, Stanford, Wisconsin, Boston College, Colorado, & W. Virginia... Hamilton seems real excited by the Iowa offer & their history of using their TEs like Dallas Clark... His Dad played for W. Virginia but that won't affect his decision making process... He's open and looking to take as many visits as possible...

I'm glad he has a good relationship with Taver Johnson...it's a start I guess.

In the last week, Hamilton has added offers from Oklahoma, Cincy, & Cal... He has upcoming visits to scUM
& one of either Pitt or Cincy... He'll follow those up with a trip out west to see Cal, Stanford, Southern Cal, & UCLA... He has no favorites or time table for a decision...

Scout $ - Hamilton Adds Three More Offers

Received offers from Oklahoma, Cincy, & Cal... Impressed with how Oklahoma uses their TEs, doesn't know much about the new Cincy staff yet, looking forward to visiting Cal month... Feels he still has a lot of research to do before deciding... Adamant that his decision will be final as he won't go back on his word... No leaders yet & no time table...

A different breed of TE
By Nick Leach

Over the decade we have witnessed the tight end position revolutionize itself into an increasingly important aspect of the passing game. Gone are the days of them becoming the 6th member of the offensive line. Current tight ends still need to be able to block, especially at the 2nd level, but they also need to be able to stretch the field to open up the offensive schemes. At 6?5 and 220 lbs., Ray Hamilton has the size and frame that will translate to the next level. With deceptive speed and strong catching abilities, it?s no wonder every major conference has offered the talented recruit out of Strongsville, Ohio. We had the chance to sit down and talk with Ray and peek into how his recruitment has been shaping up after a batch of new and impressive offers.
...
Currently he has no favorites and hasn’t decided on giving any schools a definite official visit yet, so the recruiting process will continue to move on for Ray and he’s in no rush to end it. Lately there have been some rumors floating around the internet (Shocking! Impossible!) that Ray wasn’t too high on OSU and we gave him a chance to address those. “No I haven’t heard those rumors, but I can tell you those are not true. I am definitely interested in Ohio State and I keep in touch with Coach Johnson and we have a good relationship. I’ve known him since my freshman or sophomore year so that is definitely not true.”

Scout $ - GBW Video: 1-on-1 with Ray Hamilton
Sam Webb of GoBlueWolverine.com, Feb 16, 2010

Hamilton was very excited to get an offer from _ichigan... He'll be coming for the next junior day & has been there a few times already... Knowing RRod as well as he & his Dad do, they like his intensity & his off the field support... He likes the way they've used Koger & their TEs in general... Grew up a WVU fan but that won't play a part in his decision... No leader, no time table...

Kevin Koger 2009: 12 games 16 catches 220 yards 2 TD
Martell Webb 2009: 12 games 4 catches 44 yards 1 TD
Brandon Moore 2009: 6 games 1 catch 19 yards 0 TD

I'm just sayin'...

The whole "ND uses TE's" argument will start subsiding with recruits too... Under Kelly, only once did a TE have more than 20 catches in a season, which was this past year with Gidugli... His offense is much more WR focused...

If I had Kyle Rudolph I would throw to him as well. There are very few Kyle Rudolph's out there.
