first, teague isn't just a running back. i highly doubt that tressel would be tha interested in teague if he were just a running back, slot, or return man. fortunately, he's all three. second, i think tressel understands what the team needs (though the offensive line recruiting is a bit confusing).OhioState001;1827605; said:Ok but do we really need another RB?

Ursuline (15-0) rode several long zig-zag scoring runs from Mr. Football Akise Teague and settled for a 51-21 victory at Fawcett Stadium in the first of three state finals Saturday.
The contest quickly became a showcase for the uncommitted 5-foot-8, 174-pound senior running back, and he repeatedly delivered.
Teague dashed for scoring runs of 65, 46, 42 and 17 yards. And he didn?t waste any time putting a devastating impact on the Cavs, catching a 73-yard scoring pass just 1:03 into the game.
Often, Teague would bounce off two or three Coldwater defenders and romp untouched for a long score or gain. He finished with 19 carries for 249 yards, but Ursuline essentially shut him down after he scored four TDs and rushed for 192 yards in the decisive first half.
?Almost every single game he does something that surprises me,? Ursuline coach Dan Reardon said.
?He does a lot of things that make you say, ?Wow.? ?

It even hurt at halftime, with Ursuline leading, 44-7, and the Irish holding a 473-109 advantage in total offense. In the first 24 minutes, Akise Teague had 13 carries for 192 yards and four touchdowns, including one on a pass from quarterback Paul Kempe.

Tegaue finished with 249 yards rushing on 19 attempts. He also had 94 yards receiving, 42 yards in kickoff returns and a 20-yard punt return.
His five TDs broke a Div. V championship game record and tied an all-divisions record.
?There was something about the kid,? said Coldwater?s Aaron Rammel. ?He?s hard to take down.?

Pick a move. Any move.
Cut backs. Spins. Jukes. Dropping the shoulder.
They are all in the arsenal of Youngstown Ursuline?s Akise Teague. And whatever the move, Teague usual leaves defenders behind.
?There?s just something about him. You can?t get him down,? Coldwater?s Reese Klenke said. ?You try to wrap him, but he breaks tackles.?
Small in stature but gigantic in ability, Teague put on a show Saturday in the Division V state championship game at Fawcett Stadium. He scored five touchdowns and gained 405 all-purpose yards as the Irish rolled to their third straight high school football state title with a 51-21 win against Coldwater.
?I?m overwhelmed with all this,? said the 5-foot-8, 174-pound senior, who was named Ohio?s Mr. Football on Wednesday. ?This week has been the best week of my life. To win Mr. Football. My birthday was Tuesday. Then we win a state championship. There?s nothing better than this.?
Teague rushed for 249 yards and TDs of 46, 65, 17 and 42 yards in his 19 carries. He caught four passes for 94 yards, including a 73-yard score on his first touch of the game.
In attendance Saturday was Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel, who according to Teague talked to the Irish star before the game.
?That was my motivation for today,? said Teague, who reportedly has offers from Wisconsin and Cincinnati most notably, but not the Buckeyes ? yet. ?In the back of my mind, I?m like, ?Man, I gotta impress this guy.? ?

Agree.eobuck;1828257; said:Why label him as just a RB. He's a play-maker at multiple positions. OSU could use that.
Best prospects I saw this weekend:
1 - Akise Teague - I watched this kid score 5 touchdowns. All of them were highlight reel runs. His ability to change direction at speed is a skill very few runners possess. All day he left defenders grasping at air. Not only does he make them miss he has such exceptional acceleration that they don't get a second chance. The surprising thing about Teague is that he runs with some power. He does not go down from arm tackles. His balance is cat-like. I am not arguing that he should be recruited as a running back. I have seen enough on film to know he has the ball skills to play in the slot. He catches the ball naturally. Back when Ted Ginn was being recruited I had many an argument with fans about what positions he should play. He was the nations top ranked cornerback. I argued that he is such a playmaker that you have to play him on offense to put the ball in his hands more often. I believe Teague could be a corner but he is so electric on offense that I completely agree with the decision by the staff to recruit him as a slot. He is supposedly coming in for a visit.
