Obviously a ridiculous talent, but this seems like a shot in the dark by the staff.

Offer him, see if he's interested, if he falls in love with Ohio State great, if not, there are a lot of RBs in the '12 class.

It will be interesting to see how many commits we get at the spring game, it already seems like the staff is feeling comfortable enough with the players already in the fold/ soon to be in the fold to be extremely selective with the last few spots in the class.

I'm sure this kid is really talented, but don't see the reason to offer a RB when we already go 7 deep. I would rather this offer go to a TE or OT. But best of luck to Mr. Huggins

I personally like them offering top talents, obviously they are going to recruit the pressing positions much harder, but I don't mind throwing an offer out to a blue chip prospect. The kid is going to know the depth issue, etc.. can't hurt to offer.

You do know we're not limited as to the number of offers, right? It's not an either-or kind of thing.

Agreed. If OSU offered, they obviously saw a spot for him or his potential on the roster. There's a reason they call it a depth chart. The staff looks to get the best players on the field.

You missed his point--if the offer is accepted, it surely is an either-or kind of thing.

I think the point is that he is probably not going to commit, but if he does he is extremely talented and understands the roster situation.

Once again, this seems like a shot in the dark. The kid is a talent, he is probably not going to come here, but if he does than he understand the depth situation, loves the school, and everybody wins.

Like I said, it seems like the staff has a few spots that they feel comfortable being extremely selective with to finish out the class. I don't see how anybody loses by making offers like this.

I don't mind this offer one bit. His tape is one of the most impressive i've seen not only this year, but last year too. His vision and balance are Clarettesque. The staff must think highly of him if he is the only RB offer handed out.

Running back is a position where you can never have enough bodies. Spring practice is half over and we are down to 3 while the other backs are sitting out nursing injuries. As it stands right now, we do not have a proven back after next season. The young guys have a lot of potential and will hopefully step up when their chance comes, but you can never be sure.

If you offer another TE and they all accept, wouldn't that be taking away from another position as well.

I get what you're saying, but it seems like there's a number of TEs that have expressed interest in us, and we probably need at least 2 commits at that position(I feel that Fragel is gonna end up on the Oline due to depth and his size). Nothing against Huggins, like I said he's a very talented RB, but we have some other positions of need.
And no I didn't know we can offer as many recruits that we could
