UK calling on in-state prospect
It's been just a week since the uncle of new Bowling Green High School standout Chane Behanan said his recruitment was opened back up.
But already the phone is ringing off the hook for the 6-foot-7, 230-pound junior, who moved to Bowling Green from Cincinnati Aiken and had previously been committed to the University of Cincinnati.
Behanan is a top 100 prospect nationally in the Class of 2011.
Bowling Green coach D.G. Sherrill said among the schools that have called to check in on the state's top prospect has been the University of Kentucky.
The Wildcats have not offered a scholarship but will monitor the progress of Behanan. Oklahoma State did offer a scholarship to Behanan last week.
Alabama, Georgia and West Virgina are among the other schools that have already been in touch with the Behanan camp.
A strong, physical presence on the floor, Behanan averaged 20 points a game each of the past two seasons at Aiken.
