O'Neal Brown
LB/DE
6'6, 205 pounds
Warren G. Harding High School
C/O 2010

Bigger doesn't always mean better, but O'Neal Brown will be one to watch out for over the next couple years. Very raw at outside linebacker, but time in the weight room could bulk him up to a scary defensive end. Basketball keeps him active, but this offseason will be huge for him if hr puts in the work. Will only get better as his career develops. Film link below.

He is for sure going to need some work and polish, but you can't teach his frame...Has long arms, but he plays way too high, and doesn't explode on the tackle...

Should be interesting to see where his development takes him...

Exactly. He's young, so he's definitely a work in progress. At the same time, he'll go as far as his work ethic takes him. He's a good kid, so he's very coachable. I feel good about his future.

He has great size for a defensive end, like all young players, they need some time to grow into their bodies, and add some muscle to those bones. I love athletic defensive ends with 6'6 size, big enough to bat down balls, but also nimble enough to beat offensive tackles and wreck havoc in the backfield(Julius Peppers)

I think Darryl Baldwin and Derrick Bryant will be those guys...Right now Brown has the potential, but is not there yet and not the best DE on the Harding team...But he is on the watch list for sure...

This is the great thing about recruiting, watching this young boys grown into young men and eventually football players. I take the "watch lists" and "star rankings" with a grain of salt. Buckeye greats like Malcolm Jenkins, and Vernon Gholston were recruited as 3 star players, while 5 star recruits such as Doug Worthington, Jamario O'Neal never really lived up to the ranking(Doug Worthington was a promising player, then he screwed up in the off-season)

But most of the time, rankings are bang on, with the likes of Donte Whitner and Ted Ginn Jr.

One could say the same about Bryant.. According to the analyst over at Ohiovarsity.. Bryant only had 5 tackles his entire sophomore yr..

Brown and Bryant have absurd potential.. but neither is developed as a football player right now

Not to get off of Brown, but in Bryant's film on ScoutingOhio he has 4 sacks in 51 seconds of film and he didn't play that much varsity, so if he only had 5 tackles then he only had 1 tackle on top of those 4 sacks and the 2 pressures he had in that film as well...

Back to Brown, I agree on the potential, but most have Bryant ahead of Brown at this early stage...
