Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney running back Braylon Heard saw his scholarship offer list grow to 18 by the end of the spring. The Nittany Lions were one of the first to offer Heard a scholarship.

"I'm still looking at most of them," Heard said. "From the Big Ten, Penn State, Michigan State and Wisconsin offered. Nebraska, West Virginia, Cincinnati, North Carolina and Maryland offered. Those are most of the big ones."

In mid-April, Heard said Penn State and USC were his two favorites. However, that has changed.

"I really don't have a favorite now," Heard said. "I'm pretty open now."

Braylon Heard is the best senior back in Ohio. He is a tough runner for his size. He has great balance and his speed is on another level. I have seen comparisons with Noel Devine. There is no YAC with Devine. Heard is no power back but you have to tackle him. I think he cuts into Devine's reps next year. This is the second week in a row Heard has impressed me. If the Buckeyes wanted another back late in the process I would take Heard over Erick Howard.

We might have missed the boat on this one. Heard is a baller for sure but to the staffs credit, he really blew up this year stepping out of Beachum's shadow. Nice to see we are getting in on him nevertheless.

Hes an awesome RB but he doesn't fit in the OSU mold for a RB and so he shouldn't come here even if offered. WVU is a much better place for him to use his talents while osu really just likes brute force backs, something Heard his not. Also heard does his best with zone blocking something we only realy run out of the shotgun zone-read and something WVU uses exclusively in their O

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Was told by my WVU guy that Heard has said no thanks to OSU on a visit, but will be visiting Nebraska soon. Not sure what to make of it, but he's the same guy that relayed the Wasonga info to me and knows his stuff, so I'll look around to see if there's any links elsewhere on this.
