'10 NV PG Cory Joseph (Texas Verbal)

He's definitely profiled on scout and rivals, look closer!
I don't really like the STARS system as it makes no sense to me.
He is TOP 100 in his class on every list I can find and as high as #36. I think his recent AAU play may well shoot him up the lists some. He is a fine prospect and I'd like to sign him. He may be more of a combo now though as he is a good shooter.

You'd have to think that any PG in the country would be highly interested in what OSU has to offer for 2010: a guaranteed starting spot immediately and a place in probably the top overall recruiting class. How much better can it be, short of throwing in a Nike endorsement deal and a new Corvette?

You'd think some PGs out there would realize what a great spot this is for them to come into.

But having said that it is actually LATE in the process to be getting involved with 2010 recruits. Many have already verballed or are narrowing lists, so they aren't that interested in new interest and expanding their list so late.

Thus its important to try to hone in on your best 'bets' and try to get a commitment.

The staff has probably been on Joseph the longest of the top 2-3 they are after. They recently entered the race for PG Phil Pressey, he evidently isn't that set on finalists so it was good timing.

I hope they can get one of those two. Smith keeps being described as a POWER GUARD which doesn't sound like the disher we need.

Whoever updates these profiles, shouldn't Joseph and Phil Pressey both be in "Offered" status now? I thought I read that Bob Baptist of the Dispatch reported they both have offers now!

As far as Joseph.........not real sure he has an "official" offer without a test score...........

As far as Pressey................I would not use the Dispatch as a very factual source for recruiting info........

Just my opinion.

I'd bet a lot of money that it is far more likely that Joseph and Pressey BOTH have valid current offers than that Trae Golden or Pe'Shon Howard do ( who are still listed as having them on this site )!!!

Joseph and Pressey are too highly sought and hot commodities ( given our need for a PG ) to be stalled at this point and most report that there is zero chance they'd ever get involved with Golden again. I think contact with Howard has been nil for many months now.

So while you may not respect the Dispatch as credible, my guess is they are correct on those two calls. It is logical that TM would offer the two best PGs he is recruiting when he so badly needs one more in that class and the early signing period is not that far away now - relatively speaking for this class.

Joel Francisco: Josiah Turner showed he could be one of the top PGs in the 2011 class - ESPN

6-3 junior Cory Joseph (Henderson, Nev./ Findlay Prep), exhibited the type of skills from the point guard position that will earn him a high-level scholarship opportunity. He didn't assert himself as much as he should have for the Pump N Run Elite team, but his savvy and shooting ability were on display.

Findlay's unsung floor general, Joseph, a junior from Toronto, was the glue down the stretch, urging his teammates and engineering the offense.

"Thank God he is a junior," Peck said. "He's got stuff you can't teach. I don't care how many hours, how much film you watch, he's the guy next year we are going to look for him in a leadership role, putting more on his shoulders -- stuff you can't teach."

If he doesn't follow his brother I think that we are right there...The only thing is that Minny had a good season last year, and they should be even better next year with top 2 top 50 kids coming in...So we won't be able to play the card of being the much better team, but we will have the sell of playing time...He would be slotted behind some other guys on Minny's roster...
