MD O-lineman not ruling out USC

By Eric Guimaraes
OL Arie Kouandjio (6-6 314) of Hyattsville, MD says he is not ruling out any schools, including USC. "I would definitely consider them," he said. "I don't have any favorites. Kouandjio has over 25 offers and recently picked up two more from Auburn and Notre Dame. The Gamecocks have also offered. He has visited Rutgers and West Virginia this summer and say he liked both. "I liked specific things about both schools. I was just thankful that they would have me at their schools," said Kouandjio. He has not planned any other visits and says he doesn't plan ahead, he lets "life take the steering wheel." As a junior, he says he had over 100 pancake blocks.

Ferguson, Kouandjio enjoy USC visits
By Phil Kornblut

...
Kouandjio also enjoyed his time with the Gamecocks. "I got to meet all the coaches," he said. "I had a really good time. They showed me a bunch about the school. Overall, it was a good visit. I really like the stadium and the coaches. I hung out with coach Graham and coach Wolford. They are very interested in me and would love to have me." Kouandjio has not narrowed his list of 40 offers. Some of his other offers are Tennessee, Miami, LSU, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Auburn, Florida, Nebraska and Alabama. Joining the two linemen on the visit was ATH David Coates (5-9 170) of Washington, DC who at this time is not being actively recruited by the Gamecocks. The group left Columbia headed for Florida where they will visit Florida State and Florida on Friday, and South Florida and Miami over the weekend.

47 offers and counting

?I have 47 offers right now,? he said. ?I don?t have any favorites. I haven?t really focused on recruiting yet, I?m just trying to get ready for next year.?

Though Kouandjio won?t name any favorites at this point, there are some schools recruiting him harder than others.

?Schools that are recruiting me the hardest are Alabama for one, California, Miami, and Tennessee.? Kouandjio offered. ?Alabama?s probably coming at me the hardest.?

Kouandjio has also taken a wide array of visits to numerous schools and admits that he liked one in particular.

?Right now, I?m actually on Iowa?s campus and I?m leaving tomorrow but I?ve seen Florida, Florida State, Southern Florida, Miami, South Carolina, and West Virginia.? he said. ?I liked all of them, but I liked Miami a lot. I don?t know I just really liked the coaches and the surroundings of the school.?

I don't think I have heard us mentioned with Arie in quite some time, with the exception of a writer listing his offers. We may be on a list of 10 of his, but I would bet it is in the 5-10 range.

I read somewhere-maybe ESPN-that he said he definitely wanted to visit Cal and alabama for 2 of his officials. I don't think he is very interested in tOSU.
Yes. Other boards suggest he's narrowed down his list to 8, and OSU's not on it. Bummer. Good luck wherever he goes. Hope we land his brother next year though.

Highly-coveted lineman Arie Kouandjio cuts list down to eight

Three-star guard Arie Kouandjio (Hyattsville, Md./DeMatha) informed ESPN affiliate Web site IrishSportsDaily.com that he's trimmed his list of 30-plus scholarship offers down to eight favorites.

"They are Alabama, California, Maryland, Miami, New Mexico, Notre Dame, Tennessee and Wake Forest. I liked all the coaches from all these schools, and I felt a real connection with them. I looked at my opportunity to play early, and I like the traditions at these schools."

Kouandjio plans to keep in contact with his top schools during the fall however he does not intend to begin taking official visits until after the season.

Time for a move....

Confusing to say the least. Best of luck to Arie at whichever school he chooses...
