By Evan Daniels...Thad Matta was at Lavonte's game on Wednesday...also hearing from Marquette, Baylor, New Mexico and Western Michigan.

Rivals lists offers from Indiana, Baylor, DePaul, Iowa State, New Mexico and UNLV...

Dority led the 2008 Proviso West holiday tourney in scoring, averaging over 23 ppg while no one else averaged more than 20, but he wasn't among the tourney leaders in assists. In short, his stats indicate he's a scoring point. I've seen at least one service list him as a SG ... I'm not sure he'd entirely solve the PG problems for OSU - I'd like to think even if they did get Dority that they'd get more of a pass first PG for next season ... perhaps that combo is what they'll go for because that'd be sort of like the contrast they had with Simmons & Crater.

Correct me if I am wrong, but the way it looks right now, we dont have a true point guard on the roster for 2010? Simmons and Hill will have graduated, Smith, Wright, Sibert are all listed as shooting guards... I am more than a little concerned about the position right now.

I'm not sure why there is not more discussion on this kid. Seems like the only real PG option for the '10 class left on the board (that's not 1 & done). Am I missing something?

I think most, like myself, think that it will be tough to sign anyone else for 2010. Scholarships are full right now. The only hope is Turner or Buford leaves after next year. If not, they would need to pull someones scholarship in 2010 if they signed another player.

Lavonte Dority, 5-11 rising senior point guard, Foreman (IL): A bowling ball of a floor general (the first of three point guard from his high school I?ll mention; he plays on a different AAU team than the other two), Dority uses his excellent quickness, shifty handle and powerful build to put pressure on the D, is a willing and creative passer, finishes with toughness and savvy and imposes his will defensively.
