UGa Rivals - 06/25/09

Committed to Georgia.

The Bulldogs obviously got into the game early with Rogers, as his only other offers were from Duke, Buffalo, Florida International, Western Michigan, and South Alabama. However, since his commitment, Rogers is beginning to "heat up", and new offers might start rolling in from the big boys of college football ... especially if landing Deon could in any way influence Jeff Luc's decision.

Don't think this offer is a '2 for1' type of deal. This kid can play and would take him without Luc in a heartbeat. Although I wonder how long we will wait for him with more than a few S offers out there...

Definitely not, the kid is a stud. The timing of the offer and Luc's rising interest also has to be looked at as a major positive as well.

Agreed but if it helps us with Luc, that would be a bonus. Count me as one that doesn't see Luc leaving Florida regardless but I still love this offer.

The Luc situation is intriguing-he is sending out fewer public "hometwon" vibes than other top Florida kids, and he has walkwed the walk by coming up to tOSU and staying in contact.
In regards to Rogers, he comitted to Georgia, but A-that was his first big offer, and B-Georgia has a bunch of talented SS/OLB types in their class-he might become convinced he is the odd man out there, possibly.
