New guy on the radar...Rivals showing an offer. Other offers include Auburn, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Michigan State, USF, Tennessee, Florida International, and Western Kentucky.

Jared was the QB on my best friends 7on7 team at the Scout 7on7's in Tampa. He was pretty impressive, especially considering that the 7on7 isn't the best format for a dual threat QB. His nickname is Scooter. Really good kid.

My dude tells me that he believes Jared is one of the most underrated kids in Florida, and maybe even the country. Says he throws a beautiful ball (I agree, kid has a nice arm), is very elusive, and has a really good head on his shoulders.

Keep in mind my dude is a huge TSUN fan. He says Jared reminds him of Troy a bit, and he really doesn't want to see him head north.

His offer is as a defensive back. And he's a heavy FSU lean.

Well, I was offering the info I had, and none of it was as a DB. The thread title says ATH, so I didn't know. I hear he's a heavy FSU lean as well, along with Kenny Shaw. That being said, the staff doesn't just throw offers away, so there must be some mutual interest.

He'll be choosing Friday. FSU is the leader. His final 4 schools are FSU, USF, OSU and Louisville, and that's his ranking as of a few days ago. OSU is recruiting him as a DB. At least we'll know soon about this, but it appears FSU is his destination, I'll check back in here Friday once I hear for sure.

Oh, I actually wasn't responding to your point at all. I didn't even read it until I had hit 'enter'. Just posting what I've heard from some Florida State people..

Has he ever even been to OSU? If not and he's making a decision on Friday then it seems the odds of an OSU selection are very unlikely.

It would be nice to get into Lakeland

Yeah it would be, they constantly have burners come out of there. Must be something in the water. But he'd be a nice addition to the defensive backfield. We must've made up ground on FSU.

Agreed, that's a great place to make inroads year after year. I've also seen him in action and he's something.

Seen him in Wheeling,WV last year against Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Didn't impress me at QB, but he didn't have to be impressive as Lakeland destroyed Catholic. Hope we can snag anybody from that school. Very impressive football team.

Florida State, Ohio State, South Florida, and Louisville lead. Wants to visit Ohio State. Likes the fact that Ohio State doesn't offer many players. Also likes Ohio State's depth chart.

Still looks like the Seminoles are in the driver's seat here....

His uncle is the defensive line coach at FSU. There was no realistic shot from the beginning. Sounds like the staff made a good impression on him, though.
