How do you define "normal"?

Wow, so many complaints for a 18 point road victory with no risk of losing at any point of the game! The other team is no slouch, i think.

I personally am more concerned with the potential injuries. Hope JJ is ok (he did have that TD, so apparently he is fine) because it was kinda scary.
My concern is that the best player in college football had 6 touches. How? Why?

Christ, do people know there’s a BMW thread? As for the game, it seemed like the game plan on both sides was very vanilla with a lot of straight 4-man even DL fronts, minimal blitzing and less pre-snap motion on both sides of the ball than has been typical. It looked to me as if the staff felt that Illinois couldn’t match up on the lines and decided to just play straight up. While it didn’t look pretty, I never felt that they were in the slightest danger of losing and having it be tough right when the hype train was starting to pick up steam might be a good thing in the long run.

I understand the frustration more now. So the other guy said the bucks couldn’t do shit when he tried. I guess he is welcome to try it when they face the bucks again. Oops, we probably will have to wait until next year to see that!

In the mean time Patricia has bulletin material to motivate his unit. Cool

Emotions are always highest right after the game. Mine included, BUT after some hours going by. Taking a walk with the wife, and catching some of the other games. OSU still looks like the most dominant team in CFB. Like @Jagdaddy and others have said, i don’t think the game was ever in doubt and the gameplan was to stay vanilla and they still won by 18. without the garbage time TD we’re talking about a 24pt blowout.
Patricia has a big reason to rip the defense a new one with all of the blown coverages. But other than that, Altmeyer needed 40+ throws to get just over 250yds.

I would expect another vanilla game plan against Wiscy as well. And I also expect a similar outcome, a 3td+ win

I'm more pissed that Bert keeps running his mouth.

We clearly took it nice on him but he's running his mouth about how we couldn't stop them or apparently before the game our offense is not built to come from behind. He's loud stupid and proud of it

We are now very, VERY much in the catbird seat after today's games:

1. We pretty much pounded a fairly good Illinois team by 18 points, on the road, to stay unbeaten.
2. Penn State lost (to fall to 3-3) to a team they should've handled fairly easily, and lost their starting QB for the season.
3. Indiana beat previously unbeaten Oregon, at Oregon, by ten points to also stay unbeaten. We don't play Indiana in the regular season.
4. USC pounded Michigan by 18 points less than an hour ago, giving Michigan their second loss halfway through the season.
5. Wisconsin (our opponent next week) got shutout huge, at home, by Iowa 37-0.

If you would've told me two weeks ago that the team I'd be worried about for the rest of the year after today's games would be UCLA, I would've called the psyche ward on you.

I liked Altmeyer and thought he played well once he got into his groove.
I think the Tempo did make it harder on the D as they moved the ball way too easy on us at times. It's not an easy feat to score 2 touchdowns on us. Texas didn't do it. Washingtown couldn't do it.
I think the Illini are a pretty good team.
We need a Running game folks, just saying. I dont see one. At least none that I'm happy with.
Overall the offense was stopped too much to my liking, Thank God for the turnovers.
GO BUCKEYES!
