They declined moving the date. If next year's game is set for a certain date, and then Texas wants to up and change it for whatever reason, yes we will be allowed to say no.

No. Because next year ESPN / ABC will most likely be airing the game. They'll certainly make it the prime time game that it deserves.
We'll just get to grumble whilst counting our media dollars like Scrooge McDuck.

I wish it was at least an afternoon game, part of the game should be under the lights. Either way, start drinking the pickle juice (or whatever method is used these days) and count on a time that disadvantages us the most. All I can say is at least we'll know early so we can prepare. Just really feel it's a disservice to not have this be a night game, but whatever let's just go out and whip their asses.

Ohio State vs. Texas is officially set for a noon kickoff on FOX while it will play Grambling State at 3:30 p.m. on Big Ten Network and Ohio at 7 p.m. on Peacock.
The Buckeyes’ highly anticipated season opener against the Longhorns on Aug. 30 is now officially set for a noon kickoff on FOX. Ohio State’s final game of non-conference play against Ohio, however, will kick off at 7 p.m. at Ohio Stadium on Sept. 13.
