Game Thread #1 Ohio State vs. #8 Wisconsin, 2019 B1G Championship Game (Lucas Oil Stadium Dec 7 8:00 PM Fox)

The UW OL and DL were completely overmatched the first go around.

They can't run. They can't protect their QB. They can't stop the OSU run and they can't cover OSU athletes when required to play an even game on defense (can't cheat for run because of rain).

What exactly in the fuck are they going to do differently to mitigate being inferior along both lines?

Hold the fuck out of our DL (even more than usual)?

hold and hope it doesn't get called.

I assume the players from Wisconsin know the tOSU is the better team and odds are stacked against them . Chryst and his coaches are going to have to do a masterful sales job to get the team to buy all in ..,,

and don't forget, they are coming off their own big emotional rivalry game

Wisconsin is too well coached to quit or no show but I think the fear some have of OSU walking into a buzz saw while completely flat is a bit over done.

I have never been accused of optimism, but if there was ever a trap game, this would be it.

It is always way more challenging to win when the hype gets thick. The hype could not be thicker. CFP #1. 3 Heisman candidates. Undefeated. Coach of the Year.

And then there is the Bucky revenge factor. Blew up Bucky last time. Insulted Bucky by players doing the jump around.

Here's hoping Ryan Day has it under control, because this all is a recipe for disaster.

There is no reason for anyone to still have a chip on their shoulder.

For those worried, look at the play-by-play in 2nd half. They only stopped us once as the rain started to let up and Fields got more comfortable. Remember, this was his first big game and it was down pouring the first half. Up until last few games, I noticed he had a tendency to just throw to wide open guys. Lately, he is throwing into tighter windows. It’s called maturation/trial by fire. So even though he was sacked 4 times in first half, how many throws did he have? He was 5-9 for 65 yards .... In 2nd half, he threw a bit more ... was 7-13 for 100 yards and 1 sack - not as afraid via holding it. Note, this was his 8th game which seems like a lot other than he sat most of 2nd halves before this (so say 5th game).

There is only 2 stats to focus on ... Taylor was held to only 52 yards this year and 41 yards in 2017 (he had 1700 yard season as Freshman). Against a team like Wisc, you take away their main option and let Coan beat you (probably minus his receiver ... if knee, AJTaylor ain’t going to be running when he couldn’t put any pressure on it the other day). Just match A CB with Cephus to limit him and how many more yards can they gain on last game’s 191 vs 431? Who benefits more from longer routes in a climate control environment? Sure, it should (could) be a closer game, yet I doubt Day will let off the gas in his team prep. Yes, Fields May not run as much this time, yet his maturation throwing the ball will give Dobbins more room to run as well.

I think they will find someway wrinkle to gain more yards and score more than 7. Yet, I doubt they can hold us to 30s unless Fields gets hurt.

This is why I trust Ryan Day more than even Urban in this type of game. He’s had this team motivated every week. They haven’t been perfect but no game has really been a challenge .

I feel like Dobbins is about to break out in a huge way. Too many Zeke vibes to this run. Think I’m gonna place a nice wager on his total yards for this game. I don’t care what Vegas sets it at .

Based on the last two weeks it won't be.

The question about "will holding be called" and the answer of "based on the last two weeks it won't be" brings up the question "who will the referees be"?

A couple quick google searches does not seem to yield the answer. I can only conclude that this information is kept under wraps, in an attempt to "reduce the tax burden on referees" by reducing bribery income. Along the way, google seemed to say that in the NBA, refs are announced the morning of the game.

Put in ticket request through OSU two weeks ago. Finally got the tickets today. They are in the Wisconsin section. What the heck OSU!? I don’t want to sit there. I’m rather pissed. Section 431. The whole reason I go through the OSU ticket office is to sit in the OSU section.
