#1 Ohio State 72, Michigan 62 (Final)

That would decide if Wisky gets a 1 seed... OSU would certainly have one locked up in that scenario.

That's a good point.

Honestly, I think they are going to give UCLA a #1 no matter what. How can a team lose to a sub-500 team and not drop in the polls.

Florida should be able to run the SEC tourney unless they fall back into that funk from two weeks ago.

For Kansas and UNC, I think they both have a tough road to win their conference tourney.

Scenario:
Wiscy barely beats tOSU in the conference championship
UCLA wins the Pac10
Florida wins SEC
Kansas wins Big 12
UNC loses in Finals

Who gets your four #1 seeds

Polls in College Basketball, especially at this point in the season, are absolutely meaningless. That said, UCLA DID drop in both polls after losing to Washington, who isn't "sub-500" either.

In that scenario....

Overall #1 would probably go to Kansas....

Other 1 seeds would be

Wisconsin
Ohio State
UCLA

UCLA lost to UW (7-10 in the Pac10)
UCLA drops 1 and 2 spots in each poll

My point is this, Wiscy dropped three spots in each poll for a last second loss against the #1/#2 team. Giving UCLA a break because they already won their league is a joke in my opinion.

Still, as you noted, polls mean squat at this time of year (and frankly, they don't matter all season)

So in that scenario,
Kansas gets the South
UCLA gets the West
Who gets the East and who gets the Midwest?

That isn't what you said. You said they didn't drop when they clearly did.

Actually I think Wisconsin will get the South, they'll put Kansas in the East and Ohio State in the Mid West.

OK, OK. Just looking for a fight today aren't we. To clarify:

Washington was a sub-par team in conference play (which is obviously the most important part of the season for a team who didn't play anyone good outside of the conference)

UCLA did drop a few spots after the loss

Wisconsin lost to an unranked Michigan State in addition to the close loss to Ohio State in between the two poll periods that you refer to. Wisconsin was actually lucky to have only dropped a few places considering their losses--most of the other top teams losing that week helped their cause.

Yeah yeah, but Wiscy had two tough/close road losses against tournament teams. UCLA lost by double digets to a non-tourney team.

Still, none of this really matters. Sure would like that #1 seed in the MW but anyone who gets in has a chance to win it all. But remember, if you don't keep your students loyal, nothing else matters.

And UCLA had beaten a very good Washington State team earlier that same week......

as if the OSU students wouldn't be loyal to the program.

Let's not start that shit again....:roll1:

What does anyone getting in having a chance to win it all have to do with our getting a #1 seed? Student loyalty? Here we go again.

Come on man, I'm yanking your chain.

No one is going to take you seriously just coming off a ban if you start whining about student loyalty all over again. You need to give it time along with a few stellar posts and everything will work out.

The point is this. The #1 seed in the MW would provide a nice "home court" feel for our team. Still, even if we lose the first round of the conference tourney, we would still be in the dance--and that is all that matters. Anyone in the tourney has at least a shot.

And lets not take this "student loyalty" or anything posted on a message board too seriously. If I can't poke fun at myself who can I poke fun at?

Anybody else getting a little pissed off about the argument being put forward on many of the website suggesting that we will lose our #1 seed if we lose a game before the NCAA? :stupid:

I mean, what is this crap? :mad1:

We lose three games, one ugly. All are away. All are to #1 or#2 seeds. We beat a #2 seed and a #4/5 Tennessee. Unlike the other top seeds, we haven't lost multiple games in March.

Excuse me but fuck these guys. :banger:
