'09 OH LB Will Studlien (Northwestern signee)

I was looking threw this thread and honestly I was at the game. Shelby ran a offense where they ran the ball every single darn time so no wonder he got 19 tackles. As a osu prospect at linebacker he was not quick on his feet but he got to the ball sometimes a little late. My opinion honestly is that he has reached full potentiall and as of now I do not see him translating into a D1 linebacker... but things can change obviously

OK Know it all. It is so funny that you can say a kid who bench presses 410+, is the key player on a team that has reached the state regional finals, for two consecutive years, runs a 4.7 as a sophomore which is what James Lauranitis ran his junior year, has two older brothers that went on to have successful college football careers one of which currently plays for Mt. Union, and is the #4 prospect in the state of Ohio for 2009 has reached full potential! If you can not see him translating into a D1 linebacker, you must be blind. Maybe a DE is more fitting but he could easily play D1 linebacker!

Actually, Duane Long has moved Will up to the #2 Jr in Ohio now......

No dis to Storm, (I think he's 1 of the best in Ohio) but Will is Bigger, Stronger and faster and he plays in a lot better of a conference. He probably would of already received an offer if he would of been able to of made it to Ohio States camp last June. He couldn't attend do to a sprained ankle he received playing rugby. I've actually seen Will bench 405 Lbs last spring (with my own 2 eyes)

He was also one of a dozen or so Jr's from Ohio to be invited to the Army All-American Bowl Jr day combine in January. (he's going to attend)

All he does is make tackles.......Lots of them!

Storm is pretty dang fast. I have a hard time believing Will is faster.

I've watched both play in person and Storm is definitely the faster of the 2 and I don't think it's close. Studlien has the better linebackers instincts as of right now.

Will and Storm are friends and rest assured that they will be a tag team going to the combines and the camps this upcoming year. So to compare the two now would be premature and unfair to both of them. Hopefully everything pans out and the two will face each other in the upcoming weeks. My thing is that if you don't have anything good to say don't say it at all. Will is a good kid who wants to play football for the Buckeyes and you got to respect that.

I bet he is a good kid. Who are you his father? JW but college isn't all about being a good kid its about skill and i don't care what duane long says to be honest. I go and watch a game in central ohio every week, for you to say he is faster than storm is funny. Storm pulls away from very fast db's and runs a 4.55, i dont think osu would of offered him if they weren't so sure first of all. And yes i see him pan out at de most likely too and I have the right to judge players are predict where they will pan out, and i have seen storm play 3 times this year and will 5 times so i have a decent idea of what I am saying, after all its only my opinion right?

My other question is, for the junior combine that coltin griffis is giong to, you said only a douzen are going? And he is up with the douzen?!!

I am not bashing, I have gave many comments to many hs players. There are lots of spectacular players and I have said so.I am sorry I am offending obviously someone you know.

well I am so glad that you are MrKnowitall. Maybe you could be a site moderator or something with your in-depth knowledge and expert recruit analysis. Please explain to me how the fact that you have made many comments is a testament that you are not bashing? You have made only 7 or so posts all today and you want me to accept you posting in Will Studlien's thread how much of an expert you are in evaluating his slowness? Please spare us all. What you say is opinion and not fact.

Fact is Will Studlien has been contacted by Luke Fickel. Will Studlien is the #2 rated player in the class of 09 by a true expert. He runs a verified 4.68-40. He bench presses verified 400+ pounds. 405 is posted. He has been a phenom in the post season. He holds one or more D1 offers already. He is 6'3 and weighs 225. These are facts and it is your expert opinion that he is slow or gets to the tackle late or that offenses only run the ball so Will can have many tackles. It is the other guys opinion that he is not as tall as posted . So be it.

I beleive he is one of central ohios better lb's but lookin at the osu line backers and seeing him play ALOT this year that is what i made my analysis on. I could be wrong very much. If i am then so be it. He holds d1 offers already you said?

Will was offered by Akron the first week of September. He's been contacted (by mail) by almost every major school in the country.

BTW, Will has a faster shuttle time than Storm.

It doesn't take a genius to evalute football talent. You can see differences easily in all levels of football if you watch games closely. Anyone who has been around sports long enough and seen the way players develop should have a good idea. While somethings like hitting a baseball or pitching may be harder to predict. Evaluating a future football talent based on measuarables is easier. I do it all the time, and also attend games every week. Why are you bashing Know it all so bad when he is merely stating an observation hes made from watching games. He's not stating that Will Studlien is the worst high school football player ever. He's merely saying that his speed does not compare to Klein's speed after watching them in person. These so called experts go off the same numbers and game film that we watch. There's no big secret about football prospects that experts have at judging over over regular observers. While judging things in the business world can be impossible for outsiders, judging football talents is not a science, it merely comes from watching a lot of what you are judging and observing how things pan out, and learnign things from it.

No reason to get so upset eastside...

He just gave an opinion...That is what makes this site so great...We can agree to disagree, give both sides to the story...

In recruiting there are hits and misses all the time...even the best miss, but no reason to get personal...

I haven't watched Will play live, but people I do trust have said that he looks a step slow...So with that said I would love nothing more than to see a great kid like Will get and accept to be part of the class, as I always trust the coaches with their offers...

I think I figured out who Mrknowitall really is. It all makes sense when you think about it.
