You guys are really swayed by an article from the ND site? I can't really say much more here, but just relax and wait it out..not popcorn (or banana, depending on what kinda guy you are) time yet.

A lot of people have speculated he's going to Ntre Ame. I'm hoping he becomes a Buckeye but I'm not counting on it.

From IrishIllustrated....Down to 11 schools. Visiting Purdue today & Notre Dame on Saturday. Plans on visiting Ohio State later this month and talking to Coach Tressel. No timetable set for a decision.

I don't see why you guys are jumping off this ship just yet. My impressions have always been that ND was his "safety" choice unless some school bowls him over when he visits, and that OSU was the top dog, even with Bellamy on board. If there's space, I'd still put OSU as the leader.

That said, visits can change the landscape very quickly. If on the fence because your class is almost filled up, and he wants to go somewhere he can make his mark faster rather than waiting his turn (we're much younger at DL than you guys), then a visit to South Bend may be the deciding push. He's Irish, he's Catholic, so there's enough there to feel comfortable with in all likelihood. Just wait 'til his visit is over before you send him a bon voyage, 'cause from all things I've gathered he grew up scarlet and grey.

Kids who are supposedly lifelong Buckeye fans usually don't sit on an Ohio State offer for ten weeks (Muldoon was offered in early April) especially when scholarships are so tight. The delay at least creates the appearance that there is some lack of mutual interest.

From the ND site. Muldoon says he enjoyed his trip to Notre Dame very much and was "shocked" with everything they had to offer. He will take some more visits and narrow things down soon. Kyle Rudolph and Dan Fox have been in contact about coming to Notre Dame with them.

Says that the Buckeyes are in touch with his coach and that tOSU is planning on taking 4/5 D-linemen. He also says that if the Buckeyes run out of spots, it would make his decision easier.

Well that's a dangerously ambiguous statement. Does he mean that he'll commit if tOSU informs him that there's only once spot left or does he mean that he's going to wait a long time and commit to ND if OSU is full?

My take is that OSU has already told him there is only one possibly two spots left. He will make his decision on his own timeframe and if OSU has no spots when he is ready, than ND will be an easy choice. I guess I could have just as easily said "the latter"

Sounds to me like its down to OSU and Notre Dame, and he's saying that if OSU runs out of spots, his decision is made for him. Hence the reason his decision will be easier. Once the Buckeyes are out of spots, he recognizes that is it, then suggests his decision will be easier at that point. I think there's really only one way to read that.

How is that different from what I said, other than the rewording?

In that article on Scout, he said that ever since the commitment of Adam Bellamy, tOSU has been recruiting him even harder. But it also sounded like the Buckeyes may not be prepared to hold a spot for him. As with the case of most recruits from this point on, I think it's a case of verbal ASAP or get left behind.

Sorry, I guess I misinterpreted the bolded portion. I took it to mean that you were saying the other interpretation--that his statement meant he would commit if informed there was only one more spot--was just as easy an interpretation as the one we've both understood. I see now that that wasn't even the "latter" of the two interpretations listed in Scoopfan's post. Back to Muldoon . . . .
