'09 OH DE Pat Muldoon (Wisconsin Signee)

Great size, plays very strong, closes well on the ball, decent athleticism, and plays with a ton of heart. Relies on his strength too much but that's common enough. I really like this offer but I think Pat is very similar to Fellows. I think we still need to offer a rush DE like Carridine. Anyways, I think Pat has the potential to be a good one. Quick side note: X's defense had Muldoon and Scruggs at DE, Schneider at LB, Craig at S/LB...it's no wonder nobody could do much against them. I can't imagine an OL that could block those guys up consistently.

Boy, I love the way he goes after people- staight on. That was something A.J. Hawk had down pat. When you watch the film that emu posted, think Hawk and you'll see him.

I gottta say the offer surprised me. It's before the camps, it's not related to something one of our prior offerees did or didn't do, and frankly, I loved Tank Carridine's film and thought he would be the next offer in-state at DE (and I know I'm not the only one who thought that). That said, Muldoon is an impressive looking prospect and I certainly would like him on my team. (and to those talking about Muldoon beating Adams in the recruiting tidbits thread, there's 3 or so clips of Muldoon going up against Adams and his Dublin Coffman teammates)

"I don't really have a top five," he said. "I'm looking at a lot of things. I'd like to decide early, but I know that if I want to give every school a fair shot I'll have to take some time and take my visits. The main things I'm looking for are academics, atmosphere, football team, fitting in and coaching staff."

Muldoon is also Ryan Lukens' cousins. He grew up in the same area as Ryan and went to the same grade school. His uncles are Bill and Joe Lukens who also played to OSU.

From the Wisky site. Muldoon says he grew up an Ohio State fan, and his family is all Buckeye as well (two uncles played at Ohio State). All that said, he wants to check out some other schools as well. He had a good visit to Wisconsin, and says everyone is even at this point.

Buckeye....book it.

You know, it really doesn't matter anymore how many more connections with Ohio State Pat has but just to throw another out there . . . Pat's older brother was also roommates with Robbie Schoenhoft and currently attends Ohio State.
