OSU has offered.

I give 21 credit...he has said all along the target number of TEs was 2...

Yes, props to him. I was never really buying it with all the DB offers, it just didn't seem like there would be room. However, with the Fragel commitment and the offers to Hageman and Sims, it looks like he was correct. It's also starting to look more and more like we may take over 25 for the first time in quite a while.

It will be interesting to see what happens if both Sims and Hageman go elsewhere. Will we be content with one TE or are the coaches desperate enough for 2 that they start making more offers?

Kid seems to want to play basketball more than football at this point. That is going to be the first hurdle a team is going to have to overcome.
How unfortunate for TSUN:

Why? We got Koger and Moore in the last class and Martell Webb and Steve Watson the class before. I like our depth. The thing is, he has been looking like a Sparty for a while and I think that might be where he ends up. The big problem, is that he has more NFL skill than NBA skill and he needs to realize it if he wants the money. But, you can't blame a kid for going with what he loves. Dion is as stand-up as you can get

I really like this offer. Personally, Hageman is the guy I want and I think Hageman could be the top pass-catching TE in the country...maybe the best period. However, Sims would be far from a consolation and he is a great player in his own right. We took a long time to evaluate TE's and while I think it may be a down year for TE's, we offered 2 good ones in Sims and Hageman.

From BG....Says Miami, Georgia, UCLA, Tennessee, Purdue, Iowa, Ohio State, USC, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Florida State & LSU are on his interest list. Says he is still undecided whether he will play basketball, football or both in college. Plans on making a visit to C-Bus soon and says he is looking forward to seeing Taurian Washington and other Orchard Lake players.

Rich Rodriguez hasn't had a tight end catch a pass in his offense since 2005. And now Sims would be in a group of 5 or 6. Assuming they all split time, what's zero divided by six?

I think Sims sees himself as a WR/TE combo that could still work out of the slot in RR's offense...

I wonder what happened to Georgia Tech?

Thing is, Rod's already got four slot guys in this class on top of the five he took last year (and that's not counting last year's two stud TEs). If he goes to AA, he's looking at 11 guys ahead of him.

When I look at the situation with Sims and two sports it always makes me think back to a couple of players years back that went the bball route, that I thought likely could have been in the NFL if they had played football. Michigan had a small forward back in the Gary Grant days by the name of Richard Relford from Florida that was a first team Parade all-american as a HS TE. A decent college baller, but probably alot more potential as an athlete in football. An Ohio guy that I always thought the same thing about was a guy named Larry Harris out of Lorain Clearview. A big time stud in football and basketball. He had a college bball career, but I think there was more potential in football. Both guys were around 6'6"- 230 as bballers.

Hopefully if Dion has any interest in a pro career he will make a good decision and pour his energies into becoming a top notch recieving TE, preferably with the Bucks.
