That is great news.....Georgetown has been percieved as his leader for some time......
Junkie, I thought in another thread that you said there were some "issues" with Riley. I don't know if you were referring to Georgetown or some other type of "issues".

Probably not academic issues if G-Town and Duke are involved in all honesty (but I can't say for sure)...

I've heard concerns over his offensive polish... I hear that he needs some work in that department, but that's all I've heard in regards to Riley...

I do not remember the post....if you find it, let me know......like stated above.....the only issue with Riley is he is developing on the offensive end.....a project if you will.

COUNTRY DAY 74, CLINTONDALE 49

Country Day wall subdues Dragons

BY PERRY A. FARRELL ? FREE PRESS SPORTS WRITER ? February 26, 2008

Even before the tip-off of Monday's district game between host Birmingham Detroit Country Day and Clinton Twp. Clintondale, it was apparent the visiting Dragons were going to have a huge problem with the Yellowjackets' size, and nothing inside would come easy for the MAC Silver champions.

That was the case, as the intimidation factor came early for the Dragons, going up against DaShonte Riley, a 6-foot-11 junior, 6-8 Donnavan Kirk and 6-9 Amir Williams -- the forward wall of the defending state champions.

He really needs to turn his potential into actual results...Look for a big drop in the next rankings when they put them out...Probably about 80 or so spots...also look for us to back off a little...

I have stated several times that I felt he was more of a project than polished big man at this stage.....could be a player down the road.....

Yep and that is right on...He needs to be more aggressive on offense, and just continue to work on his game...he seems to have the right attitude in the article to get that done...The frame is something that you cannot teach...

Unfortunately, we do not need a project big man in the 09 class. I think that we need someone who will be able to come in and contribute immediately and from this sound of it Riley does not sound like he will be a immediate contributor unless he develops very rapidly within the next year but the scholarship is already offered which is somewhat confusing.
