'09 JUCO CB Mike Edwards (Hawaii Signee)

Midwest Recruiting Blog - ESPN

One of the top uncommitted prospects in Ohio, defensive back Michael Edwards (Cleveland/St. Ignatius), has long had a strong interest in Ohio State. However, the feeling hasn't always been mutual and it looks like Edwards will be heading elsewhere.
Edwards made an official visit to Cincinnati the weekend of Dec. 12. He plans to visit Michigan Jan. 16 and Tennessee Jan. 23.

"I'm not going to take a visit this weekend," Edwards said. "I wanted to, but a lot of schools aren't having visits this weekend. I talked to Minnesota (Tuesday night), but they said nobody will be there this weekend. I might take a visit there Jan. 23, but I don't think things will get that far.

"It looks like it will be Tennessee, Michigan or Cincinnati. I don't have a favorite. I've only visited Cincinnati."

As far as Ohio State goes, Edwards was hoping he would land a scholarship offer from the Buckeyes, but that hasn't happened.

"I probably won't end up being a Buckeye," Edwards said.

Moving this one...

:shake: How is ESPN ever going to be credible when it comes to recruiting if they can't even figure out where the recruits attend high school?

I hope the best for him. Nothing against Tenn. but it doesn't seem like they have the structure there. Part of it might be since this is Lane's first year it takes years to tinker and fine tune such things. Mike would have really benefitted by going to a program with a strong leader, system and structure. Sad, sad news.

Players get in trouble everywhere. It isn't always a failing of the coaches/program.

However, Methomps, I like to think that if Edwards were at a program like OSU he wouldn't be out robbing people. I don't know of any Ohio State players who are robbing people. Maybe DUI's or whatever happen here, but not robbing people.
