Yeah, I wasn't really trying to give any sort of update, it was more of a drunk idea. I just thought that getting him to town this weekend could have been a slam dunk. Thad has miles and miles of momentum, and JT is providing a great official visit atmosphere.

Stephan Van Treese added 12 points and 10 rebounds for Lawrence North (3-0, 1-0 Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference).

John Javis led the Braves (1-1, 0-1) with 17 points.

Mays, Giants win early battle of 4A powers

MARION, Ind. -- Even though Julius Mays led Marion to victory in a battle between the only two nationally ranked high school basketball teams in Indiana, he wasn't ready to celebrate.

"It's real big, but we expected it," Mays said after spearheading Class 4A No. 2 Marion past No. 3 Lawrence North 71-63 Saturday night.

Lawrence North's 6-9 Stephan Van Treese, the state's highest-ranked junior, had his second consecutive double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
