This "stud" will be one of IL Best OL next year. Had over 100 Pancake blocks this past season. He is still growing.....he will have offers from many TOP programs. His 2007 "highlight" DVD has been sent out to several sites, however I've been told to be patient--Trust me Chris Watt's game film is VERY IMPRESSIVE!!! He will be a dominating OG / OC as he begins to reach his potential in next 2-3 years at a major D1 program. Keep an eye out for his 2007 DVD!!

Wonder if this hurts Ricky Harris' chances of landing an offer with Mewhort already in and Hall already with an offer...That is of course if they feel good about the chances with Watt...

Or unless they feel Harris could play on the defensive side of the ball, but that is for his thread...

We lose 4 after this year on the line. Are we not expected to take around 4 this upcoming recruiting season?

I looked at the numbers the other day and I believe we will have 15 on schollie next year...Then we lose 4, and bring in 3/4, and we know that Bollman likes his numbers low, so he might be happier with 14 other than 15...I mean it will depend on the kids and who we go after and what not, but I was just feeling that 3 would be the number they would go after...

That would be my reasoning...

I kinda like him better there as well, but one guy I would really like to keep an eye on for DT is Trae Tiller...

tOSU and Iowa have offered. Chris is very excited about the offer from tOSU, and is good friends with Garrett Goebel, who informed him of the offer.

Just wait until you see Chris Watt's 2007 season "Offensive Highlights"!!!
He AVERAGED over (10) TEN Pancake blocks a game and never let any D-Lineman within 3-4 yards of his QB on passing downs (while playing in one of the tougest conferences in the state of Illinois!!) Hopefully these highlights will be put on internet in the next week or two!!

X, since Chris and Garrett are good friends, do you have any insight on Chris's interest in OSU and playing with Garrett? We he leave Illinois?
Thanks in advance.

I have been helping "manage" Chris' recruiting (Similar to what I do for Garrett) and he is in the "infantile" stage of this whole process. Similar to Garrett, Chris plays a winter sport (Excellent B-ball player) and is trying to remain focused on the continued success of his B-ball team at this time. Once his season ends he will start taking visits. Once he gets out to visit schools, meet staff etc.... I believe he will then understand why Garrett has chosen to become a Buckeye and possibly follow his footsteps (to some BCS Championships!!!) but at this point it's too early to start "speculating".
I can confirm that he is THRILLED to have been offerred by OSU!! I have to try to be as objective as possible in helping Chris make the best decision for him (and his family). Chris' older brother Kevin was a redshirt Def. End for Northwestern this past season.

senior OL

tOSU graduates 5 Offensive Lineman on scholly after this upcoming 2008 Football Season:

Alex Boone - OT
Steve Rehring -G/RT
Ben Person - G
Jon Skinner - OT
Kyle Mitchum - G

2009 Year graduates Jim Cordle and Andrew Moses (2 Centers).

So the opportunity will be there to compete for starting positions and playing time.
