'09 IL OL Chris Watt (Notre Dame Signee)

Question for XP...

Question for you then (if you don't mind).

I noticed that Steve Wiltfong from IrishEyes (the Scout Notre Dame site), did an video interview with Chris, and now has immediately pulled it off their site with only the cryptic message "This video is no longer available".

Any idea why this was done?

Not that I think Chris is going anywhere else (cause I still believe he will be a Buckeye), I just wanted to see what Chris had to say, and they jerked it off the site so fast, I did not have the chance to hear his interview.

Thanks for any help. You've been a great addition to this board.

It's gonna be a whole month before Chris decides. I think we should sit and enjoy the ride. Apparently Longo has NOT received an offer yet....but that may change shortly. I am not reading much into the absence of XP lately.....he may well be as confused as Chris himself. All the schools that he is gonna visit in the near future have their own charm, and I am certain that he is gonna be dragged in every different direction by the respective coaching staffs.

When all is said and done, I am still feeling very good about our chances! :)

At the end of the interview Chris said that the ND players looked out of shape, but went on to add "it is the offseason though" so not to look rude. The site either removed it because it painted the team in a poor light or because they didn't want their fans to tear Chris Watt apart.

Thats why i'm assuming it was taken down; but obviously could be wrong.

Watt was smiling when he said that the guys (OL) looked out of shape while running 110 yard gassers. Linemen call gassers "pukefests" for a reason. ND fans didn't tear Watt apart because they largely understood the joke.

The video was taken down because ND didn't like the precedent of a recruiting site videotaping a prospect right after a campus visit.

Wish I would have seen it, you could (probably are) correct, I didn't see it. From what I read was said, I didn't pick up on his sarcasm. I didn't say they were tearing him apart, but I figured they might if he called the team out of shape, and wasn't kidding.

I might be wrong about this, because I've never really thought about it, but don't recruiting sites typically do interviews right after a recruit makes a visit? I guess usually it is by phone, but is there a huge difference?

Maybe what Chris had to say about ND wasn't nice enough for IrishEyes to publicize...

Could not have said it any better......Thanks!!

That works too. :p

ND fans are feeling like its a tossup between the two schools. At this point, all I can say is good luck and I hope you guys fill your class with another 4 star offensive lineman. *Braces for boos* :P

I do not have the foggiest idea nor will I lose a wink of sleep over it. For the various ?'s directed at me in recent posts I will answer most by the following statements:

I do have contact with Chris (+family) more than every 1, 2 months yet I do not inquire about HIS Current FAVORITES rather I ask him about his lifting, training, weight & attempt to find out his future visits.
No campaigning for 1 school vs. another......with his list of offers Chris Watt CANNOT make a poor choice!!! (I give him credit for his detailed research, travel from coast to coast...leaving no stone unturned) All I did was get his info. to his list of top programs making sure this was reviewed....and WALA..early offers from EVERY SCHOOL he listed (besides a few darkhorses who recognized their slim chance) Coach Hetlet did an outstanding job of bringing in dozens of colleges and earning their repect by his honesty & genuine interest into Chris's future.

So.. if Chris asks me a question I answer it but at this point he is well educated on the recruiting game. My part is over....unless the Watt's call with ?'s. I HONESTLY do not know where he is leaning & I am hoping Chris chooses a school that he feels meets ALL his needs...academically & athletically and when he decides HE HAS 100% certainty of his final choice. At this point a SIMPLE Coin toss works for me in determining his pick!!!

You call it....Heads or tails!!!!
